Rice Homestay....a lovely place to stay.

I spent three nights at Rice Homestay in December of last year,2025.It was a very pleasant experience. The homestay is conveniently located in the centre of Banaue at the edge of a ridge with beautiful views of the nearby countryside....I had all my meals at the on-site restaurant.Service was prompt, prices were very affordable and the food served was excellent....My room was reasonably large and very clean and sleep quality was perfect...The staff made my stay memorable and enjoyable and I want to mention Bambino and Joemar....An extra special mention must be made of Bambino who organised a guide to take me to the sights over the two days...The guide-Magellan,a.k.a.Machete-was top class-friendly,helpful and professional.I learned so much from him.....Rice Homestay is a lovely place to stay and is definitely worth returning to...Top marks...10 out of 10.

A nice terrace vith views

Banause is not a nice & clean town, so it.was good to be a bit away from the center. Rice homestay has a big terrace that overlooks a part of town and small rice terraces. The food is good, room small and clean, all you need.
The only thing I didn't like was the attitude of the receptionist, guys nickname is Bambino. He acts a bit like he's the prince of Banaue. A bit too cocky and arrogant for me. We booked our trip before with a guide over facebook (he is super nice & kind, check him out - Jercy Cabbigat) and the crew from Rice homestay (and other I guess) try to steal turists coming by bus to the station from other guides. Its a bit of a war over turists. They'll lie in your face that your guide is not coming, that he sent them, bla bla...
But c'moon I am not cattle, I have my own mind and I can do and select whoever I want. Also the trek they offered was 30% more expensive then the one we did and we covered more ground.
Great place to stay, but you don't need to book their trips. Ask around, go to the turist office, read a bit of reviews of great guides and have o good time.

A gem that surprised us, would have liked to stay longer here!

Bambino met us by tricycle in Banaue when we got off the bus from Manila. Rice Homestay was wonderfully located a short distance away, along a rock wall overlooking the valley. Bambino is the most caring host imaginable. Fixed excursions and helped with allergy decontamination of the room.

With Armel the 3d trek to Banaue, it’s baby bomb!

We left during the Christmas period, and despite the capricious weather conditions, Armel our guide of Bogah Lodge Hotel, will have taken the time to accompany us everywhere during the 5 days of our trip (from our arrival until our departure).
Explanation of nature, the history of Banaue, Batad etc... and the rice fields at the top!
He even made us a superb grilled fish for Christmas that we all ate together over a small drink, perfect as a New Year’s Eve !
Finally don’t be afraid of its price, it is a very experienced guide, with notions of first aid in case of trouble! In addition Armel is very accommodating and will not hesitate to work hard for you!!!
So don’t wait any longer and book your trek with Armel, and Bogah Lodge Hotel!

Wonderful stay in Rice Homestay

I liked my stay in the hostel very much. The view on the rice fields is wonderful
The atmosphere is cozy. But above all, the staff is very helpful. I could go for two trips to rice terraces with the guides
It was a wonderful experience. Thank you .
