Incredible!! Highly recommend

Had an amazing time diving with Mabuhay thresher dive! Arnel was extremely helpful and friendly, everything was very organised, we saw lots of thresher sharks and other marine life and overall was an incredible experience. Would recommend to anyone coming to Malapascua for diving!

RUN AWAY from this sorry excuse of a hotel!

Awful place to be in! By far, THE WORST hotel I have ever stayed in.
I give credit to where it's due, so here are my thoughts about this property.
Pros:
- beachfront
- affordable room with AC
- each room has a terrace
Cons:
- the male owner EAVESDROPPED in our conversation and made unnecessary comments. He is renowned on the island for being UNKIND. Yes, you may own the hotel, but you DO NOT OWN the beach!
- small rooms, really cramped, and outdated is an understatement
- ugh, don't let me start with the bathrooms
We are respectful travelers and we have no idea how our stay here ended on such a sour note. This place does NOT deserve anything. Thinking about our experience just makes me feel angry. NEVER AGAIN!

Great Dive Shop!

Though we didn’t try the accommodation, my partner and I got our open water diving certificate here and couldn’t have had a better experience! Our instructor Julius, was so kind, patient and experienced. He really knew how to calm us, teach us and make us feel comfortable with the new experience. Could not recommend him enough! Thank you Julius!

Amazing diving experience with Mabuhay Thresher Dive Centre!

Completed my open water along with my partner at Mabuhay Dive Centre and absolutely loved it! Our instructor Julius was very experienced and made us feel very comfortable in the water. Under new management as of 2022, great team!!

Great place to stay for a diver visiting Malapascua

I stayed at this resort on Malapascua for four nights in early part of March 2020. It was a five minute walk from the area where ferries arrive from/depart to Maya Port on Cebu. My standard double room was clean and perfectly comfortable with air conditioning that worked fine. I ate nearly all my meals at the restaurant/bar, which served a good range of excellent food, both Filipino and European/Western. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and I really enjoyed my stay here, meeting many other travellers and divers from several European and Asian countries, the US, and Australia. I also went on nine dives with the attached dive shop, who also provided an excellent service and some great dives (see my separate review on the Mabuhay Thresher Dive Centre page). I can thoroughly recommend and would hope to stay here again one day.
