Breakfast: Incredible to see staff stepping over food dropped on the floor without cleaning! Fruit pieces remained on the floor for at least 30min with staff and clients alike carefully stepping around or over it. Some serious management changes and/or training and staff selection needed. IKEA cafe style trays and return tray trolleys used to make work easier for staff. These trolleys sitting full of dirty dishes right in the middle of the breakfast room. Totally adding to the charm of the place

Clean and good rooms with AC.
Good breakfast.
On the negative side the service in the bar was not good and they ran out of beers and other things as well.
We had a group dinner and the food was not very good and we got small portions.

Aging hotel with very small rooms

Old hotel
Only the reception is acceptable
Too far from everything
Tiny, noisy, and aging rooms
At reception, the staff's mood is variable
I strongly advise against it

Madame, Monsieur,
Cordialement,
Business traveller

Practical

Overnight stay in this hotel located on a relatively quiet street in the south of Paris.
Small but well appointed and comfortable room.
The welcome is spacious, modern, with a nice bar. A convenient hotel with good value for money.

Poorly rated, misleadingly named, and management’s contemptuous conduct makes it one of the least advisable Accor hotels

Following recent stay (booked for April 13–15), here are four observations for anyone considering staying at this hotel:
1) Low Tripadvisor ranking: ibis Paris Alésia Montparnasse is currently lowly rated No. 1,418 out of 1,881 hotels in Paris (as of April 16). DYOR on Tripadvisor and elsewhere to understand why. My own separate research also indicates that this hotel appears to have the lowest Tripadvisor rating among the 13 Accor hotels located within a 1.7 km walking radius (approx. 22 minutes according to Google Maps) of Gare Montparnasse train station.
2) Misleading naming: Despite “Montparnasse” in its name, the hotel is a 22 minute walk from Gare Montparnasse train station. Many travellers searching for accommodation near the station could reasonably find this geographical attribution misleading.
3) Contemptuous management attitude: The hotel manager’s behaviour toward me (an Accor loyalty programme member) was openly contemptuous uncommunicative, and unprofessional, leaving the clear impression that such guests are viewed as an inconvenience rather than one of the very reasons his property exists. In my view, this hotel manager is harming the Accor brand.
4) Fixation on 'policy' trumps focus on guest exoperience: This hotel tends to hide behind 'policy / Terms & Conditions' instead of resolving customer issues. This signals indifference to the guest experience, in my view. Yet, when convenient, the hotel also chooses not to uphold Accor’s published brand promise—precisely when consistent, high-quality delivery of a hotel group's brand proposition for the customer matters most. I therefore implore Accor to hold this property accountable to one of its six core values that guide its culture and guest/customer experience: "Guest Passion — putting guests first, caring deeply about their experience, and going the extra mile".

Dear Madam
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your recent stay.
We are sincerely sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the quality of service and communication with our team. Please be assured that delivering a welcoming, professional, and attentive guest experience is a priority for us.
Regarding rankings on review platforms, these naturally fluctuate over time and reflect a wide range of subjective experiences. They should be interpreted with caution and in context. Our hotel continues to welcome many satisfied guests, and we remain committed to maintaining consistent service standards aligned with the values of the Accor group.
Concerning the hotel’s name, we would like to clarify that the reference to “Montparnasse” relates to its location within the Montparnasse district, in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, and not exclusively to immediate proximity to Gare Montparnasse. This is a common geographical designation used across many establishments in the area. In addition, the hotel’s is easy to find by tube line 4 (5-8 minutes from Montparnasse station to Alesia) or Bus 92 (5-8 minutes to Alesia too).
About management, we strongly refute the characterization of our team as “contemptuous” or unprofessional. Our staff are trained to deliver courteous and respectful service at all times, even more for our All Members. That said, we regret if your interaction did not meet your expectations and remain attentive to all feedback that helps us improve.
For the policies and procedures, these are applied consistently to ensure fairness and transparency for all guests. While we always strive to be flexible where possible, certain situations require adherence to established terms and conditions, which are clearly outlined at the time of booking.
We regret that your perception of your stay differs from the experience we aim to provide. Nevertheless, we thank you for your comments, which are taken into consideration as part of our continuous improvement efforts.
Kind regards,
Frédéric Boissonneau
Front Office Manager
