The place to go to on Naxos
The location is amazing! The hotel is right on a beautiful beach and has an amazing restaurant Tortuga. It is a small property and that is lovely, not a big factory anonymous place. The look is natural materials, boho chic vibes, organic type of textures. The grounds in front of the rooms are very pretty in a minimalist designer sort of way. If you want you can just choose to never leave this place! The people there are so kind. We were lucky to be welcomed at the hotel by Liana who is the most helpful person. She will go above and beyond to make your stay incredible. She has wonderful suggestions if you need. The rooms are very pretty if not always very practical.
The restaurant Tortuga was perfect. The decoration of the restaurant is straight our of a decoration magazine! Maria who owns the place is charming and has a great place. The food is delicious at the restaurant and on the beach.
The beach is beautiful and the sunbeds come free with the room. The service on the beach is perfect.

Oversold and over priced
The positive is it’s in quite a good location - just across a dirt track to the very nice beach. However, this is not a hotel. It’s a few rooms attached to a beach ‘club’. There is no 24 hour reception. Everything we read beforehand sounded wonderful and the photos made the place look great. Sadly they do not reflect what we experienced. The price is very high and we felt totally oversold and cheated. We wish we’d read through more of the reviews (duh)! Clearly some of the issues we experienced had been going on for a couple of years.
The rooms are basic with silly design faults - for e.g. nowhere to put anything around the sink.
Nowhere to store clothes apart from a few hangers. You cannot walk from your verandah to the beach. There are children playing around (not guests - apparently the owners children). Factual inaccuracies.
The jet tub is not fit for purpose. A complete joke. When I complained they seemed surprised and gaslit me! Saying they couldn’t help the water temperature - ignoring how dilapidated and broken it was. We were moved to another room with a different tub - but also unsuitable for use. Our aircon kept breaking - albeit they fixed it with a new system on our penultimate day. They knew this was a problem and should have proactively dealt with it! Two bad sweaty nights!!
The beach club is open to the public so not child free (as they advertise). On our first day they said they didn’t know we were coming so no seats reserved. Even the reservations were hit and miss.
Everything seemed like a struggle. We became exhausted with getting things sorted on our short stay.
One shout out is to the chef in the restaurant. His/her cooking was good. A wasted talent in this place.

Still to Wake Up from its Hibernation
Naxian on the Beach enjoys a beautiful beachfront setting with lovely views. The hotel is, however, in a more isolated location away from Naxos Town.
We stayed shortly after the hotel apparently reopened on 15 May, and it did feel as though some aspects of the property were still settling into the season. We were not informed at the time of the booking that the hotel was shut during the winter.
The hotel suffered from numerous maintenance issues and even its computer systems appeared to be non operational.
A major unacceptable issue during our stay was the lack of hot water, which unfortunately remained unresolved despite repeated requests and written communications by email. Even, the hot tub / jacuzzi could not really be enjoyed and it also appeared somewhat dated.
There were also a few maintenance issues, including water leaking from the toilet jet spray, and some older stains visible on the bathroom and hot tub flooring.
The hotel also appeared understaffed, although the staff present were courteous and tried to be helpful throughout the stay.
Overall the stay was not particularly enjoyable and the hotel was over priced.

Overpriced and underdelivered
We were really disappointed with this stay and it is nothing like the photos!
We booked a room with an outdoor Jacuzzi. We were early checking in and asked to go to the beach and staff there would look after us. We sat on two sunbeds and ordered a drink. After about 10 mins a staff member told us we couldn't sit there as the beds were reserved. We told him we were guests at the hotel but he quickly informed us that people reserve the beds up to two weeks in advance and that hotel guests can use the beds further down the beach but not on the front row as non resident guests book and obviously pay big bucks for the premium beds.... not impressed. He also told us the bed bookings had nothing to do with the hotel and him. Therefore I was very surprised to see him sweeping the floor in the bar and making coffees in the hotel the following day, obviously he worked at the hotel. When we arrived back to check in we were escorted to a tiny room with no outdoor jacuzzi. We obviously complained but were told there were none available but we insisted and were told to wait in the room, instead of come have a drink at the bar etc. We did eventually get the room we booked but honestly it looked nothing like the pictures! This is call Naxion on the Beach and the pictures indicate it is on the beach. What they do not indicate is that there is a dirt road between the hotel and beach which has motorbikes, cars and trucks going up and down all day creating dust storms. This also advertises as an adults only resort nope there were children all day running around the restaurant and bar. Basically there is no preference for being a hotel guest they are taking walk in business from the beach to the restaurant and beach club and as a guest you expect to get some kind of preference but you don't. They did provide a cake for my husbands birthday which was lovely but sadly this place was a massive disappointment and not worth the price tag.

Amazing place with friendly very helpful staff, esp Liana 💗. Breakfast is excellent and beach is great. Totally recommend this place and can’t wait to return!!!
