It’s best years are in the past

Although very shiny and clean, its best days are in the past.
It really reminds me of a hospital. Very few soft surfaces or furniture.
More of a basic business hotel than a tourist hotel. Doesn’t have the noise and the chaos you would get at the Timor Plaza hotel or the beach that others have. Odd location choice in the neighbourhood. It is walkable to Timor Plaza but not the waterfront.
The ladies at the front counter are cute and friendly as are all the staff. Breakfast is ok, A La Cart.
Airport pick up and drop off were a big bonus.
The pool is the biggest disappointment with heavy algae growth on the sides and swirls of cloudy material in the bottom. Clearly the chemicals are out of balance.
The other challenge is you can’t turn off the bathroom light (hot water heater?) so it shines into the bedroom.

As bad as bad gets.

Horrible on EVERY level. I don't want to re-live it by writing it out. Dirty, Dishonest, Stupid, Bad Location, Too Expensive, etc. So very bad. Just stay ANYWHERE ELSE. On the street if necessary.

Spacious, minimalist and clean

The hotel is clean, spacious. The wifi connection is not so good because sometimes is low. If you have meals in the restaurant, the taste is good. I order beef gulai. The size of meals is big and enough for 2 people. The breakfast is standard on taste and variation. They usually include fried rice or rice, noodle or spaghetti, egg, sausage, fried meat, mixed vegetables or gado-gado, fruits, etc. Not many choices but not bad. The parking space for cars are big but the trees around hotel are less so you may feel hot when before entering hotel. The pool is great.

A Room at the Inn

I have been visiting Dili, Timor-Leste since independence, and the presence of hotels like the Ramelau augurs great things for the future of the city and the country as a whole.
We organized a major event in the hotel, and while the hotel did its best to accommodate our needs, an organizer must be ready to make adjustments and innovate as necessary. The hotel staff have proven to be very capable, but they do have limited resources at hand.
Food - the breakfast is bundled with the hotel accommodations, and it was adequate in terms amount, choices, cleanliness and the service, if one only stays for a couple of days. One has to check, though, what services are available and what are beyond the scope. The special meals for the event guests were also decent.
Rooms - The rooms provide basic amenities. One recurrent issue, though, was the shower and temperature of the water (I was on the third floor). It was hard to get ready in the morning with the shower coming in trickles.
Conference Room - Ideal for small group meetings, but it can be too crowded and the lay-out posed several constraints (pillars in the middle of the hall).
The staff made up for the limited facilities. They were kind, to the point of being overly solicitous, but there was a seeming lack of urgency in most actions on requests.
On the whole, a hotel with great potentials for a growing city.

Timor Awakening 7

As a group we stayed here on arrival and leaving Dili. It’s a well appointed, centrally located hotel with western facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel is 20 mins from the airport, a 10 min walk to Timor plaza and 15 min walk to the esplanade.
