The room was not clean and the hotel is very old

The room was not clean is very dirty and the photos they have has nothing to do with the hotel. The staff doesn't speak English at all. The worst hotel i have ever stayed. The only good thing is that is near train and metro stations.

WORST PLACE EVER

We booked 5 nights at this "hotel" in Rome, but we only spent one night there. One of the worst experiences of my life.
The rooms are NOT like in the pictures, as well as the breakfast.
They gave us a room where the sink was in front of the bed, and it clogged up at every use. The toilet also didn't flush, so we had to use the shower, instead of the flush.
The AC was loud as an airplane, and could not be regulated, so, the room went from hot as hell, to freezing cold in a minute.
There was also no frigde, no safe, not even a towel rack...
We did not sleep at all because we could hear every single noise from every room... even during the night there was a tv somewhere with the sound out loud, disturbing who wanted to sleep. Not to mention that the whole building would shake whenever the train passed by.
Breakfast was non existent - croissants filled with sugar, tasteless juice and some horrible expresso. Absolutely not what we saw in the pictures.
We asked for a refund early in the morning, and after a small fight with the staff (who could barely speak english), they agreed to give our money back, as long as the online agency where we booked the hotel called them. 10 days later, they don't answer emails either from me, either from the agency. I can only assume by this attitude that the staff was lying, just to get me out of there quickly.
Not to mention the location...the streets around smell like piss and are full of drug adicts and homeless people...not very safe if you want to see the city by night. We even saw drug dealing by the door in the middle of the afternoon.
We only had a good experience in Rome because we booked another place, where safety, hygiene and politeness were valued.
Hope this review helps some other people. Don't get fooled like I have been!

budget stay with MAJOR health issues

We were aware when booking this place that we shouldn't expect luxury and splendor. Honestly, I don't mind staying in cheap places: Having experienced both 5 star hotels and no-star hostels in the strangest of countries, I prefer the more basic offerings because at least I know what to expect.
Hotel Gordon has a decent location with several good dining options nearby. The neighborhood is not the most inviting (to be honest, I wouldn't want my wife to wander around alone at night) but has several grocery shopping options and public transport is a 10 minute walk away.
Breakfast selection was limited but decent, the room equipment was alright and size was enough to fit a baby bed which was available on demand.
However: What I cannot accept in any sort of lodging is dirt. Here, the shower had quite significant amounts of mold in between the tiles and on the rubber seals, making the showering experience very unpleasant. To top it all off, the ventilation / air conditioning also had huge mold stains coming out of it. When you turned the a/c on, it would stink like mold in the whole room, effectively making it impossible to use. Even with the vents off, if you let the windows closed during the day, you could smell it.
A request to change the room was not accepted due to the place being booked out. Also, the clerk's comment after my complaint was "why do you want to use a/c anyway, it's October and it's not hot anymore" -> I'm not joking!
Overall, staff was grumpy and unpleasant. The exception was a young gentleman who did the late shifts from 3pm to 11pm. He was doing his best to help but you could tell that his hands were tied.
The rooms were loud overall, as walls seem to be quite thin. Those facing the street were the loudest as the noise from passing cars and trams made the beds shake.
WIFI somewhat works on ground floor, on the upper floors it is pretty much unavailable.
Hotel Gordon needs signifciant improvements in terms of cleaning (also the floors and beds did not appear clean) and staff friendliness. Until that is done, i CANNOT RECOMMEND this place at all.

Good location and only

If u need spend couple nights and you are not not that much picky this hotel will be ok. The location is good. A lot of tourists living there. But service and attitude i didn't like. First of all we was living on the second floor and wifi almost didn't work. I had really not pleasant misunderstanding at my work cuz of bad internet and i went to the stairs hell to have at least any signal. Then in our room we couldn't find remote control for TV. And when we asked they told that they will find and give on the next morning. But on the next morning and next morning nobody do anything. The walls probably very thin, cuz u will hear sounds. The breakfast also very poor. And in the hotel 3 stars towels should be changed every two days, but they didn't. And linens was dirty.
