Wonderful First Stay at The Westin Langkawi

We recently completed our first stay at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. Despite a small initial hiccup, the rest of our trip was truly memorable.
Highlights of Our Stay:
* Room & Views: Our partial sea view room was beautiful, offering stunning scenery that instantly put us in vacation mode.
* Dining & Entertainment: Friday evening’s BBQ session was incredible, with the butter chicken easily being the star of the show! The night ended on a high note with an entertaining fire show right on the grounds.
* Breakfast: The spread at Seasonal Taste restaurant was excellent, offering a great variety to kick off the morning.
* Amenities & Hospitality: We thoroughly enjoyed the beach, the pool, the pool bar, the delicious food, and the beautiful surrounding views throughout our stay.
A special shoutout to Mr. Rizal for his exceptional hospitality and warm service—it made our time there extra special. Kudos to the entire team! We left feeling thoroughly relaxed and would gladly return.

We had 5 days and it wasnt enough. We thoroughly enjoyed it from check in to check out.
We got a room at the hotel jetty and all the hotel
Amenities were within feet away.
I loved the private beach, the gym, the balcony and the wildlife.
Special mention to Shenthi (French intern, in case I spelt the name wrong!).
Honestly, we will be returning soon.
Few things to help planning- closest 7/11 store is a can ride, so pack up on snacks.

A solid property in its current price point!

The Westin Langkawi feels somewhat iconic, a pioneer among the international chain hotels on the island. Our short stay left us with a few impressions:
(1) A solid offering at its current price point
With hotel rates in Langkawi becoming increasingly inflated, The Westin remains a relatively compelling value proposition. The location is excellent, tucked away in a quieter part of the island with a beautiful semi-private beach. We also appreciate the elegant design language, which still gives the property a sense of place.
(2) Excellent recognition of Bonvoy status
Our Bonvoy status has been consistently and proactively recognised, including suite upgrades during our stays. The Suite Night Award option is also particularly compelling here, with the possibility of upgrading into premium suites or villas rather than being limited to standard suite categories. One disappointment is the permanent closure of the joint Westin / St. Regis lounge at Langkawi Airport. It used to be a genuinely distinctive guest benefit and its loss is a pity.
(3) An iconic property beginning to show its age
The property’s heritage is increasingly visible in the hardware. While some areas have aged less gracefully than others, the key facilities remain reasonably well maintained. The multiple pools are a strong offering, and the spa remains a beautiful and enjoyable facility. That said, the property is reaching the point where a meaningful renovation would be beneficial, not simply to refresh the aesthetics, but to ensure it remains competitive.
All in all, our short transit stay was a pleasant one. The Westin may no longer feel like the newest offering on the island, but the combination of location, facilities, loyalty recognition and relatively attractive pricing remains compelling. We would certainly continue to consider The Westin Langkawi for future stays.

Westin Langkawi; three days weren’t nearly enough

We absolutely loved our stay at Western Lanka! ❤️ The location is stunning, the spa is amazing, and the whole place has such a lovely vibe.
A special shoutout to chef Mahesh, who completely won us over! We travelled with our four year old and he made sure our tiny (and very important) guest was always well fed, happily adjusting everything to suit her very nonspicy taste buds.
If you’re there over the weekend, the live band in the lobby, great food and wine make the evenings even more special! Also do not miss the fire show by the bbq dinner, it was so special!
Our only mistake? Booking just three days! Next time, we’re staying for much longer!

When they make a error...they know how to make it right

So , I initially left a poor review after failing to get a response from the Westin.....I am now actually embarrassed whilst I was disappointed at the initial lack of response...Rafi ( I believe is the loyalty manager) actually phoned me from the hotel..he apologised sincerely,he was fully aware of my contact and stays the previous year and he actually compensated me for the lack of contact including airport transfers....after feeling disgruntled several days ago...he left me feeling genuinely valued as a bonvoy member...what can I say except Thank You and I look forward to celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with you

Very good location
