Hotel is more like a 3-star European hotel
Hotel with direct access to the lagoon. Very pretty garden with lush vegetation. The setting is exotic, calm, and peaceful. We loved having breakfast by the water. We took the probably cheapest rooms. The rooms are clean but old and the decor is minimalist.
The access to the sea is pretty with catfish. Kayaks and paddleboards are provided free of charge. We were lucky to see the monkeys—a magical moment.
It's a shame that the hotel restaurant charges very high prices with a basic menu. You can eat in town or by the water near the Bacalar city center for half the price. We went to eat elsewhere every evening.

Celebrating Birthday in Rancho Encantado
We were a group of 32 people, going on holiday and celebrating everyone's birthdays. The hotel is very nice, quiet, the staff always super friendly and attentive they make the stay more pleasant and comfortable. Excellent cleanliness. The Concierge Alexander attentive so that everything flowed as it was, from the arrival the reception girl that I do not remember the name (I think Rosalba), always gave us the information we needed, we coordinated internally with internal staff (Kayak') and helped us get taxis. Breakfasts in the restaurant the Spells always ready to receive the group, always punctual and very rich foods. And for dinner celebration Chef Ivan gave us a really special service, we were all grateful for his food and his distinguished treatment.
In short Rancho Encantado was an excellent choice to hold this celebration.
And the places around the ranch are unique, and worthy of revisiting.

Wonderful hotel in Bacalar!
Wonderful, relaxing and super chill hotel and restaurant. Very nice pool (it was warm, but not too warm! Very comfortable!). All the staff were great. Special shout out to Leticia who is so sweet she made our time at the restaurant really nice. To all the the staff including Willy and Jose and all the others thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lagoon Paradise
We really enjoy being at Ranchero Encantado. Very friendly up helpful staff who are ready to fulfill all one's wishes.
Nice restaurant with delicious food and service right out to the lagoon.
We had a relaxing good massage in a cottage with a wave puddle below and were on a boat trip around the lagoon, where we saw the three cenotes it supplies the bay with fresh fresh water, got seen bird island with stork, pirate's channel and bathed in the clean soft water. A perfect trip, after which it was about enjoying the last part of the day at the jacuzzi and licking the sunshine.
Our only heartbreak is that we haven't booked some more days here

Excellent resort in Bacalar.
Excellent family hotel. Impeccable room. Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Close to town. Great swimming in the lagoon. I really appreciated the upgrade to the bigger room. Decent restaurant but I would say go into town and enjoy the good restaurants there too.
My only points for improvement is that the WiFi at the property is very spotty, but hey it’s Mexico and that’s pretty normal for most of the country
