Amsterdam comfy hotel
Clean comfy room. Reception staff helpful, near the station and all main canals and attractions. Room small but more than adequate, good shower. Lift good as stairs steep. Ideal if you are out and about in Amsterdam and need a clean, comfy, safe place to stay.

Terribly cheap.
Just back from this unpleasant experience, attracted by the central location I trusted, but alas just arrived I saw the squalor of the hotel.
In Italy it would be illegal to do anything other than 3 stars.
Very small room without wardrobe only 3 hangers, the bed had only one passage on one side, those sleeping on the opposite side had to climb over for lack of space.
Very small bathroom with hair dryer not working.
My room overlooked the street where every morning the workers made my alarm clock
(h 6.45/7.00 ) unloading commissions for the supermarket next door.
Finally we asked to fix the hairdryer and air conditioner every day, the answer was : yes we fix it immediately, teasing each other for 4 days.
AVOID THIS BIBBLE THERE IS SO MUCH CHOICE.
In Italy it would be illegal to do anything other than 3 stars.

Stop! Read this before booking!!!
⚠️ STOP! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING ROYAL PLAZA HOTEL AMSTERDAM.
If you are considering booking this hotel, please read this review carefully before making your decision.
Our experience was extremely disappointing.
Within minutes of entering our first room we discovered serious hygiene issues, including visible contamination in the toilet. We immediately documented everything with photographs and video and returned to reception.
The hotel offered us another room.
Unfortunately, the second room also had significant cleanliness issues, including hair on the pillow, visible marks on the bedding and an overall standard that gave us no confidence the room had been properly cleaned.
We reported the issues immediately once again.
Despite giving the hotel the opportunity to resolve the problem, we were never provided with a clean and acceptable room. We therefore had no choice but to leave and book another hotel the very same day at our own expense.
Afterwards we contacted both the hotel and Booking.com.
Booking.com informed us in writing that they recognised the serious hygiene issues we experienced and agreed that a higher level of compensation was warranted. However, the hotel refused to offer any refund.
The hotel repeatedly referred to its non-refundable policy.
Based on our experience, this meant there was effectively no practical possibility of obtaining a refund, even though we reported serious hygiene issues immediately upon arrival, accepted a replacement room, never received a clean room, and had to find alternative accommodation at our own expense.
This review is not written because of a minor inconvenience.
It is written because hygiene is the absolute minimum every guest should be able to expect from any hotel.
We have extensive photographs and video recordings documenting the condition of both rooms.
We sincerely hope the hotel improves its cleaning standards.
Until then, we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Terrible.
Incredible dirty hotel room, with hairs, dust and strange stains on the wall and sheaths.
Exact as I saw in the TV programm from Omroep MAX. The location is ok. Very noisy because the shops/ horeca need new products early in the morning. Airco and breakfast are ok. But it is overall a sleezy hotel where even a backpacker like me would not like to stay.

Needs to be instantly closed down
Please, please do not go to this place, it is dirty, from the main entrance all the way in, broken sockets, peeling wall paper all at first sight.
Staff on reception have no care or interest in what they do, either they were on their phone, at the main entrance smoking or entertaining their friends.
The room was small, with a double bed that you couldn't get around, there was stain on the sheets and the staff could not be bothered to put them on correctly as they were inside out, the window could not close properly so there was a draft, the shower was ridiculous, and the sink didn't flow, the door handle for the toilet was almost off.
Please do not ask to use the toilet downstairs, this is a health harzard, there were black bags of rubbish, spilling over, the carpets throughout the place was badly stained and tatty, I could go on but I was glad our stay was only for one night but I write this review in anger as I can not believe that a place like this is allowed to operate.
