Excellent value-for-money short-term accommodation in Lisbon
After being away from Portugal for six months, I was looking for a temporary place while searching for more permanent accommodation to set up my life again in Lisbon.
When Nesha Guesthouse showed up in my searches, I immediately booked it because I knew, from around seven years of living in Portugal, including two in the same area, that it’s in one of the safest neighborhoods in the city, with great accessibility.
While many travelers look for accommodation in downtown areas, the Roma–Areeiro neighborhood is a hidden gem that is less well known to tourists.
It offers easy access to downtown, typically in less than 20 minutes by metro, while also allowing you to rest in a quieter place at night. You can also conveniently walk to downtown and access many tourist attractions on foot or by metro, bus, or train – all of which are just meters away.
The Oriente and Campo Grande stations, where you can find terminals with buses to cities outside Lisbon, are also just minutes away by train and metro, respectively.
There are lots of restaurants and supermarkets around, as well as small local shops that are open until late at night.
As for Nesha itself, I found it to be an excellent value-for-money short-term stay. I had previously stayed in a hostel near downtown with similar pricing, but it was not even close to Nesha in terms of quality and amenities.
The most interesting feature for me was that it really felt like home, with full furnishings and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen comes with all the utensils you need to cook and store your own food, including a special section for leftovers where guests generously leave any unused food items or drinks.
There is a washing machine and a dryer, both with large capacity, available for use, so you don’t need to pay for outside laundry, which typically costs around €7 per cycle in Lisbon (€4 to wash and €3 to dry).
I stayed in a bed in the dorm, but the guesthouse has a variety of spaces to rent, including rooms with different types of amenities. The dorm is very spacious, with windows that can be opened for fresh air.
The house is cleaned and organized almost every day, regardless of the number of guests, which I really appreciated.
There are plenty of bath towels, sofas downstairs where you can relax, a large table for eating or working on your laptop with plug access, and a backyard with seats and tables where you can chill, meditate, or enjoy a book in a hammock. The self check-in and fast internet made my stay even pleasant.
Tania, whom I communicated with during my stay, was always quick to respond whenever I needed help and would check in to make sure everything was okay. I found her very caring and supportive.
I also interacted with another staff member, Adel, who was helpful and professional. The other guests I met were respectful, and I felt completely safe as a woman during my stay.
If you’re looking for a value-for-money stay that’s close enough to the tourist attractions but also far enough to give you some quiet to rest and recharge for the next day, I highly recommend Nesha Guesthouse. It also allows you to experience local life in Lisbon, not just the tourist side.
Surfers will definitely appreciate Nesha even more, as it is a surf-themed accommodation.
Overall, I’m grateful for the respect I felt during my stay. I truly felt valued, and it made my time at the guesthouse feel welcoming and memorable.

WARNING! Health & Safety Risk.
Be warned that this place was infested with cockroaches. There was also black mould all over the bathroom and raw meat left out in the kitchen and in the fridge. There are no staff members in the hostel to raise concerns. When the property manager was contacted about this she became extremely hostile. I would avoid at all costs!

A Home From Home
A beautiful, clean guesthouse in perfect order, where everything works. Owners were very friendly and helpful. .
The suite is very tastefully kitted out, the shower excellent, always with hot water. Air conditioning easy to use and effective, and there was a cute little balcony.

Estuvimos en la suite, se sube por una escalera de caracol no apta para personas con poca movilidad. La habitación es cómoda y espaciosa, aunque hay que mejorar algunos detalles.
La cocina, comedor, salón y patio se comparte con el resto de huéspedes que duermen en una habitación compartida con literas. Nosotros coincidimos con jóvenes mochileros sin ningún problema.
Tiene un garage cómodo para un coche. aunque para ir al centro se necesita transporte público, está a casi 5 km de la plaza do Comercio.
La cocina, comedor, salón y patio se comparte con el resto de huéspedes que duermen en una habitación compartida con literas. Nosotros coincidimos con jóvenes mochileros sin ningún problema.
Tiene un garage cómodo para un coche. aunque para ir al centro se necesita transporte público, está a casi 5 km de la plaza do Comercio.

Casa nesha para sentirte como en casa
Estuvimos 5 dias en Lisboa en nesha house y estuvimos como en casa.Casa muy confortable y equipada ,muy bien decorada y con todo detalle no le falta de nada.Muy buen ambiente.Los anfitiones son muy ahradable y te facilitan mucho las.cosas.Un verdadero gusto.Esta muy bien comunicada por tren y metro.
