In the center of Calahorra.

"A ten out of ten stay!" The Parador de Calahorra is a beautiful place, with classic and well-maintained decor that makes you feel at home. I want to highlight the kindness and professionalism of all the staff, but I would like to make a special mention of the receptionist Carmen. From our arrival, her service was exceptional, warm, and very attentive. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. I also want to mention the breakfast buffet, which is very complete and varied. We will definitely return!

Not the nicest of Paradors

This Parador doesn't look like or feel like a Parador. More like a chain hotel.
Rooms are quite dark with small windows. Calahorra is quite a depressing town to walk around. Breakfast cereals were very limited. Kelloggs Cocopops, Frosties or Bran. No cornflakes, Special K, Country Store, Oats or Weetabix. Very poor compared to other Paradors that we have stayed in. Dinner was good with lovely service from the waitresses particularly Ramina who was an absolute delight. Reception staff were very good too. Car parking is limited on a first come first served basis. If it is full you have to find alternative parking that isn't free of charge close by but free if you go further out.

The worst Parador I have ever known.

Terrible service and excessive price. Waitresses were unprofessional, arguing among themselves and charging €17 for a poorly prepared Gin and Tonic. There was no Bloody Mary because there was no vodka. Seriously? And all of that, while we were alone, I mean, they were not busy enough to proceed like that. Once and no more.

From bad to worse. The shortage of staff is unacceptable.

From bad to worse... The evolution of this Parador is regrettable.
The restoration is dreadful. For example, it is worth noting the inclusion of "4 sandwiches" on the restaurant's menu. And, worst of all, the glaring lack of service, especially at breakfast time.
It has even worsened in the distribution of parking.
Now that the one in Olite has reopened, or when the one in Veruela opens, it will be over.
Will they want to close it...?

The first major disappointment in Paradores

For the first time, I give three points to a Parador. And if it weren't for previous experiences, it would be less. To label it as a "historic" building is mere fantasy. The furniture seems to be taken from the discards of other Paradores. Old without charm. The floors of the room creak with every step. The parking is inadequate. And the worst part is the dining service. There is little staff in the kitchen and dining area, which delays the meals significantly. Slow replenishment during breakfast. It is evident that the limited staff cannot keep up because they appear overwhelmed, and the customer ends up paying for it with long waits and curt responses. It urgently needs a renovation in furniture, equipment, and procedures. What a shame.
