Clean rooms, good location for cable car

Bedrooms were incredibly clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Reception is not manned but you can check in/out at the sister hotel Aspen right beside. Breakfast and dinner also served at the Aspen. Rooms are basic but very clean and spacious. Location is great, 10 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes to the cable car.

Simple, F&B sufficient, but....

very disappointed to say that I got bitten by either bed bugs (!) or some type of insect during my 2 night stay at the pension. When I informed the reception about this and showed my swollen, red hands, they did not seem to be interested to learn more about it nor showed interest in my wellbeing as their guest. They did not even apologize (!). I ended up at the hospital and had to get medication to treat the swelling and itchiness.
Otherwise the accommodation was simple but OK for the price they are charging, F&B was sufficient (I liked the different cheeses they offered for breakfast). But the fact that they have bed bug/insects and showed no interest nor apologized for this, makes me give them the lowest rating possible.

Basic with a good ciew

Basic accommodations but it was clean and the view was lovely. It's a nice straight walk from the train station, we checked in and were able to rest. The walls are thin. Bring earplugs. The breakfast was a nice selection of cheese and yogurts, cereals and breads. The coffee was actually really dark and delicious. Pretty basic but not bad!

Great base for skiing

I booked into a dormitory room over the Easter weekend at a very reasonable rate including breakfast. As it was end of season, I ended up on my own in a room that could have slept six. Shared bathroom and shower were both clean and adequate, breakfast very good. Location is out of town, maybe a ten minute walk (if you cross the railway line and avoid Engelbergerstrasse) to station and Yucatan but only five minutes to ski lift and hire shops. Recommended.

Wonderful Inn

We stayed 2 nights in a dbl room w/ spacious toilet in-room. Private door to patio overlooking mountains where we ate our Coop lunch. Breakfast bountiful, dinner superb. I had cheese fondue and my husband had fresh lamb which the owner had raised on the mountain across the road. It melted in your mouth! (with a huge plate of fresh vegetables and rice). Service was efficient and pleasant. Although little English was spoken, that was not a problem. A very good value for this town. Minutes from train station on west end, and although on the main road, very quiet. If you are walking the APR from Attinghausen, you must walk all the way thru town, but you will have a head start when you leave for Jochpass. We were the only guests until Saturday, when it got quite busy.
