Very centrally-located to everything in Lucerne. Self check-in was very easy and there was a self-serve storage cabinet in the hallway with extra blankets, pillows and coffee. There is a bar downstairs with music until about 10pm. I recommend this hotel!

Room 42.
First, a code must be entered at the entrance door. After that, you have to check in and check out yourself. No one there, just the box next to the elevator that requires the booking code.
We already provided the details when booking - but you have to enter everything again - including for the accompanying person. Then you get a code to open the room door. A very impersonal affair. The room is small - but okay. The shower stall and the elevator, on the other hand, are not for people with claustrophobia.
At over 190 francs without breakfast, it is quite expensive.
The location made us decide to book there.

Dominic and your staff !!! Excellent
Everything was excellent. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station and the city center. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. A special thank you to Dominic, who was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. He genuinely cared about our experience and gave us great support and recommendations. We felt truly welcomed. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lucerne.

Clean comfortable practical accomodation in central location.
Room was basic but perfectly acceptable with a beautiful view of a pretty little church from the window. Was incredibly hot weather & thankfully the AC worked just fine. The bed was big and comfortable and the bathroom, bed linen and flooring were all spotlessly clean. In a great location to easily walk around and explore this incredibly beautiful city from. I would recommend this accomodation to friends who just need a place to sleep and wash and be out most of the time having a great time in Lucerne. All the staff in the bar are friendly and helpful. Self check in went smoothly. No issues. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay.

Clean but oppressively hot despite AC
The hotel was located conveniently to the town. The room and bathroom were spotless. The directions for self check in were very clear. We got a rooftop room and I do not recommend that. It was TINY--to the point that we couldn't even sit in two chairs in the room because there was only a tiny spot for one chair. But the major issue we had was that we specifically wanted a hotel with AC because it could be hot. We got there on a very hot day and the room was oppressive. We put on the mini split which is in the entry hallway and not in the room itself. We left for 2 hours and came back and the hallway was cool enough but the room was stifling. There was only one tiny window so no airflow. We are not people who like freezing AC. But the settings were such that we couldn't make it cooler so we could sleep or get airflow into the actual bedroom. We noticed the amenity closet was listed as having fans but there were none there. We were literally sweating just sitting in the room--no way we could sleep. We were about to have to try to find another hotel but we got a fan from the person at the bar--which helped us get through that first night. The rest of the visit was cooler so it wasn't as much of an issue--but we literally would have had to stay elsewhere had she not found that fan for us. The bar is not open during the stated hours--they close much earlier than stated and one afternoon/ evening they weren't open at all. The people working the bar were super helpful and nice. Bottom line: stay in a non-rooftop room and maybe the AC units in the other rooms are in the actual rooms and will work to cool them down a bit.

Regarding the Stern Bar, we would like to clarify that our regular opening hours are correctly displayed. On very quiet evenings, however, the closing time may vary depending on the number of guests in the bar. In addition, during your stay we had an internal team event, which was announced in advance with a notice at the entrance. The bar was open as usual from Friday to Saturday.
We appreciate your comments regarding the rooftop room. These rooms are indeed more compact due to the historic architecture of the building, and we understand that this layout may not suit every guest.
