A nice basic accommodation with friendly staff and good food
You have to expect a hotel away from one of the big cities is not going to be that westernised but this is still really nice. Very comfortable rooms which are regularly cleaned and freshened up with bottled water etc. The grounds itself are beautiful and very well looked after, lots of butterflies and birds to look at as well as beautiful flowers.

Beer bribe for 5 star review!
We arrived punctually to check in and use the “mineral spa” but there was no one in reception so we went away for a few hours and came back, but we still had to chase people up, speaking no Thai, to find someone to check in. The mineral bath was truly a swamp. I didn’t go in. There was nowhere to recline or rest/read outside except some weird toadstools so I stayed in the room. At breakfast i requested the fruit dish, and was pointed to 3 oranges in a basket! I had a piece of toast. Chalet room was as others have reported - run down, bare wires, crappy decor. On the plus side the air con and hot water worked. But the worst thing was they advertised a free Chang beer for a 5 star review ! Needless to say we bought our own beer!

Terrible place to stay
We did not get the room we paid for; the room was rundown and basic, there was no hot water, wifi did not work, breakfast was minimal and cold and the bed was hard as rock and very uncomfortable. And no apology for any of this, just excuses. Do not stay here!

Nice place shame about service
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour. Rooms were chalet style in a block away from reception. So very quiet.
We had booked on the understanding that they did early breakfast, but on the first morning they were twenty minutes late as the member of staff had motor bike problems. We did discover where the bread was and how to switch on the coffee maker, on the second morning, there was no sign of the staff and there were two other groups (including a Thai group of 12). The coffee machine wasn't full so wouldn't work and there was not enough bread for everyone to make toast. A kitchen lady eventually turned up but breakfast was 45 minutes late despite us ordering it the evening before.
After strong words with the manager our guide got us a complimentary dinner and assurances that the member of staff would be there at 6am tomorrow, she was very apologetic and did show on time on the third day with stories of her mum being ill. Our guide spoke thai and the kitchen lady said she was still in bed.
Pity as the location is great for birding a getting up to the mountain summit.

Run down hotel
This hotel might have been OK a few years ago but now run down and appallingly run. The room had no additional warm bedding although it was only 4C at night. Nothing was replaced no new cups so left with nothing to drink out of. Had to drink out of paper cups at breakfast. Tea was made and stewed so again had to use own tea bags.
Food was good but the service was poor and the staff appeared to be very young people with no supervision. Would not stay there again
