Pleasant and tasty evening meal

Lovely to have a different menu from the usual pub grub. Although the traditional dishes are there. Vegetable tagine was delicious and the chunks of meat in the steak and ale pie were huge

During a heatwave, there was no air-conditioning in my room. There was a pedestal fan at the end of the bed. I had to draw the blackout blinds for the duration of my 2 day stay and keep the fan on full blast in order to breath. Didn't sleep and had to stay as I was attending an event nearby.

Great Lunch Experience

We had an absolutely wonderful lunch with relatives yesterday; everything was spot on. Devilled kidneys for two of us were so tasty and generous. And the local asparagus with poached egg and prosciutto perfectly cooked, the skate wing in brown butter with capers and the liver and bacon exceptional. We so enjoyed the other mains and desserts also. Special dietary needs were met with discretion and care. An all round leisurely and relaxing time with treasured relatives.

Known this place for few years...Room was fresh but toilet did not flush and bed was like a camp bed mattress and feeling the springs as you lay on it. The food in the restaurant is good but breakfast was lacking. Asked for well done bacon and got a bacon biscuit and cremated within an inch of its life......I would not say its a bad place but attention to detail need to be applied.
