Very friendly staff. Excellent scrambled egg at breakfast. Hotel room layout quirky, interesting to say the least. Devizes is a very interesting place.

Have stayed in a lot of hotels on business. This place is absolutely first rate. Very comfortable. Lovely atmosphere and really well thought out design

Beautiful spotless hotel
Absolutely beautiful old building right in the heart of Devizes but with tasteful modern interiors. Everywhere absolutely spotless. Huge bedroom and bathroom, cleverly designed with sensible touches that are so often lacking like sockets near the bed, space for toiletries by the sink and in the shower, plug sockets by the mirrors, good lighting by the mirrors, enough hangers and plenty of storage. Extremely welcome powerful air con on a very hot weekend.
Reception was closed when we arrived but the check in was seamless although it did require a bit of a trek up and down stairs with our bags, wouldn't recommend with very heavy bags or if you don't do well with stairs but fine for us.
The one area that didn't quite measure up to the rest of the hotel was the breakfast. The menu was fine (although the full English promised black pudding which wasn't on the plate) but the 'continental' on the side was just cereal, milk and one flavour of cheap juice. A couple of yoghurts appeared on day 2. In a hotel like this I would certainly have expected at least some good fresh fruit, a choice of fresh juices and pastries.
However we really enjoyed our stay both in the hotel and in Devizes and would stay again.

A charming place to be!
I had the pleasure again of staying at The Peppermill in Devizes, and I absolutely loved every moment of my visit, as always. This charming, family-run hotel truly stands out for its warmth and personal touch.

An excellent hotel
The owners have transformed this period property into an excellent hotel, with superb fixtures and furnishings. A thoroughly relaxing time in a beautfiul building in the middle of old Devizes. We look forward to returning.
