Humble stay
A really welcoming and warming stay at the playhouse hotel. Although my family and I only stayed the one night while passing through, it was a lovely little stay we won’t forget. Everything felt clean and comfortable. Highly recommend if you are in town :)

A great stay in a beautiful town
A huge welcome from new owners Rachael and her partner Tim was the start to a couple of days stay in Barraba, although the occasion was not really a happy event as we travelled to attend the funeral of my Aunt. Our accommodation was super comfortable in this beautiful historic building. Beds were great along with huge fluffy towels provided in our ensuite. The room had air conditioning but opening windows were a plus for those who like fresh air. Tea and coffee was provided with fresh milk waiting in the bar fridge was definitely a bonus Continental breakfast was part of the package with the offer of a cooked brekkie available on request. We enjoyed a delightful dinner provided for us on the evening of our arrival as it was a Monday the usual places to eat were closed. We happened to mention to Rachael during a phone call that we looking for an evening meal and she was only too happy to oblige. Congratulations and thank you Rachael, Tim, a very spoilt black Labrador and cute cat for our great stay. Big things are afoot for this great hotel in the little sleepy town of Barraba!

A pleasurable and comfortable stay
Excellent. Five Stars. Don’t miss the pleasurable experience of staying at the Playhouse Hotel when you are looking for accommodation in Barraba.
I recently booked the Playhouse Hotel for a weekend family reunion. The hotel proved to be the perfect place for our event and was central to its success.
We were all happy with our accommodation and appreciated the clean, spacious and comfortable rooms with their modern ensuites. We were able to meet in the hotel’s lounge, dining room and courtyard and this facilitated catch-up chats.
We were delighted with the catering, which ranged from a memorable and delicious al-fresco evening meal for seven to an extensive buffet lunch for sixteen persons. These meals comprised fresh and tasty ingredients, generous serves, and were well-cooked and well presented. Although choice of dish was restricted, the meals themselves were the equal of any fine-dining establishment.
The continental breakfasts were satisfying and were available in the dining room over a reasonable timeframe.
The hotel is licensed and there is a good range of beers, wines and spirits. There are also non-alcoholic drinks. Try the Elderflower Spritzer on a hot day! Truly refreshing!
The owner and manager, Andrew, could not do enough for us. This included arranging a room and setting up technical equipment so that we could view family photos and listen to an old recording. Andrew also lent us some items for an external event. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he looked after our needs with cheerfulness, practicality and efficiency and in his own inimitable style.
Thank you, Playhouse Hotel and thank you, Andrew. I would like to stay here again one day and hopefully view a film or a performance in the hotel’s on-site theatre.
I happily recommend this establishment to others.

Delightful old-world charm
Only stayed one night while here on business. Full of old-world charm, the owner Andrew (also full of charm) has done a beautiful job creating a lovely space; he clearly as eye for style. Will definitely stay here again.

A Round of Applause for Andrew
A standing ovation for Andrew’s comfortable, clean accommodation and personal attention during our recent overnight stay. The charming location, delicious dinner with drinks, and a movie in the theatre before bed made us feel truly spoilt. We couldn't have asked for more after a long day’s travel!
