Barwon Heads Running Festival Stay

I had an excellent stay recently at Barwon Heads Hotel as part of a local running event. The room was ideal for my overnight stay, with the start line just across the road in Lahey Square.
The bathroom, bedroom and hotel facilities were perfect. Just be aware the carpark does fill up on a Saturday evening but I was fortunate to obtain one on my overnight stay. Restaurants, cafes and supermarkets are all nearby.

Delicious Food.

My wife and I and 2 friends had lunch at this hotel mid week. Our friends had dined here before and recommended it. It had a nice ambiance and views looking over the river.
The menu was vast, including seniors meals, as was the wine menu. When we got our lunch, it was delicious.
Service was polite, friendly and welcoming.
Recommend.

Great Place Great Vibe

I loved sitting out the front. There’s an epic DJ who plays there, DangerBoots. She has purple hair and creates a great vibe.
I also got heaters for the cooler nights.

The best Sunday roast

OMG, they served us the best Sunday roast in the restaurant. It was huge with 2 large pieces of pork with the most amazing crackling and not to mention all the trimmings that went with it plus the atmosphere was great. We will definitely return, highly recommend.

$70 minute steak

Made a booking for dinner. Large venue and lots of seating. The menu was good and pricey. My partner ordered nasi Goreng as she is a vegetarian. Unfortunately, it was nothing more than rice and frozen vegetables for $28 bland and tasteless.
I had the scotch fillet as a surf and turf for $70. The steak was a 300g 1cm thick dry medium rare steak.
A $5 minute steak from Coles was more fitting.
They are relying on high turnover tourist trade.
I'd hate to be a local at those prices.
