Honeymoon. Brilliant

My husband and I stayed at the rydges whilst on our honeymoon . The room more than met our expectations. The staff were outstanding. Very polite always willing to help. The rooms were kept very clean. Food was of a very high quality. Breakfasts were amazing. I will stay there again.

Overpriced

Way overpriced. Hotel room was mouldy for >$300 night rate. Limited powerpoints, room wasn't cleaned properly.

Ordered room service very expensive burger that was burnt and even the chips were. Breakfast was better but a bit cold. The exterior of the whole place needs some maintenance. Also had trouble getting out of parking with the boom gate. Very frustrating.

Be circumspect as to what you expect at this hotel.

When we arrived the receptionist made much of the fact we had been given a free upgrade to a room with an ocean view. It turned out to be a family room with multiple beds for children with an outlook of a car park and local private hospital. We arrived around 1:30pm to be told the restaurant was shut and would not open today. Likewise they had no bar open either because it was a bank holiday! The room itself had air conditioning which the temperature could not be altered and a broken ceiling light in the bathroom with exposed wiring. The hotel is tired and definitely needs a redecoration. I am not happy that the booking agent Gold Medal travel even suggested this hotel which is meant to be 4 stars.

Good location, rooms are a bit dated, bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. Staff were fantastic, always very happy to assist.
