Everything was excellent at the Coniston hotel except for two minor issues which did not really affect our stay. The sheer curtains in the room had big tears in them from too much exposure to sunlight and simply need to be replaced and the half flush on the toilet did not work, but everything else in the bathroom was brand-new and excellent. The guest amenities were very good, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was surprisingly quiet. Would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend this venue to prospective guests.

Practical and pleasant

The Coniston is basically a very reasonable hotel, we booked it for one night in transit. Rooms are large and clean. Coffee and tea are ample and a fridge is also available. The staff is friendly, parking is available free of charge directly at the hotel. Unfortunately, the Coniston does not offer breakfast, but across the street there is a bakery. The attached restaurant or bar are very pleasant and also very good quality. The location not quite as intoxicating but for our purposes it was ideal.

Highly recommend 10/10

Stayed for the 2nd time and will book again. Rooms clean, beds & pillows comfortable (I brought my own pillow but didn't use it as pillows were great) We were upgraded to a balcony room which was lovely. Had dinner downstairs both nights, highly recommend. When we came back to hotel we had cocktails downstairs before bed (bar closes at 3am) Not far from city centre, we booked Uber to & from hotel, wait time for Uber was on average a 4 minute wait.

Power went off during the night and for most of the night. This meant No air con, I couldn’t charge my devices and I couldn’t turn on any lights to see where I’m going.

Great room, friendly staff, great location. If only the bed wasn’t so firm it would have been a perfect stay (even with the renovations going on downstairs!).
