Best holiday we have been on.
We loved our stay at coolwaters the staff were amazing amenities were clean,
Kids loved all play equipment and pools were perfect,
The cafe Allamandas cafe across from pool was amazing
Best pizza I’ve ever had,
Morning coffee was amazing also

Coolwaters Discovery Park
We are quite experienced travelers and have stayed in many places around the world whether in a camper, while backpacking, or in hotels.
The surroundings of the park are beautiful and definitely invite you to relax and spend some time there. In order to fully enjoy our vacation, we booked a cabin which, according to the website, was supposed to be perfect for couples looking for a romantic stay.
Unfortunately the cabin we received was in very poor condition and looked quite run-down. It smelled old, dusty, and musty. The bed was on wheels that could no longer be locked, so it rolled around the room with even the slightest movement. The mattresses seemed very old and worn out, causing you to sink in deeply.
The bunk bed looked as if the bedding had not been changed. The chairs were worn, uncomfortable, and not pleasant to look at. The bathroom had an extremely old shower, moldy roof, leaking windows, and several insects.
Most of the cabin’s windows could not be locked, were slightly open, protectet by defective insect screen and could easily be opened from the outside. Ironically, the park advertises the slogan “Lock it or lose it” on the flyer handed out at check-in.
By the evening, our cabin had unfortunately also become home to many insects even though the doors and windows were closed. After finally falling asleep following an extensive insect hunt, we were woken up by a large cockroach crawling across our bed. We then found several more throughout the cabin. They most likely came from the unpleasant looking drain or through the poorly sealed doors and windows with broken insect screens.
Unfortunately the photos on the website did not match the cabin we were given. The park cleverly mentions online that some cabins may look different and have different furnishings.
The price of AUD 240 for two nights is absolutely not justified for this type of accommodation. If we had known the true condition of the cabin or that it did not match what we had booked, we would never have made a stop here in Yeppoon.
We had originally booked two nights, but after this experience we decided not to stay for the second night and have already booked another accommodation.
This morning we informed reception about our dissatisfaction and checked out. We were assured that the manager would contact us later that day but unfortunately we have not heard anything from management so far.
Our tip: It’s better to spend your hard earned money on a different accommodation and save yourself an unpleasant experience.☺️

Great Pizzas and pastas
Well after arriving just on 7 pm on a Friday night we were delighted to see the main kitchen was offering pizza and pasta ,what a selection of beautiful food ,the pesto chicken pene was restaurant quality and for $15 ..Bonus !!! Definitely stopping in on our return visit
