Very Clean and Great Staff

Very welcoming arrival. Lovely staff all round. Very Clean. Comfortable beds. Undercover parking on grounds. Close to IGA (tip buy milk at the servo across the road - much cheaper). Good price. Some noise from road traffic.

Friendly hosts and willing to do anything to help... Clean and quiet.....
Swimming pool, food near by and drinks. Excellent value for money. DO YOURSELF A FOVOUR AND STOP HERE FOR A NIGHT

My car's tyres were stabbed at the car park of this Motor Inn, never stay there for your own safety!!

I was moving from Melbourne to Cairns and driving. I stopped every day to have enough rest for the next day and till I arrive to Mackay everything was fine, never had an issue during 4 days drive before arriving Mackay.
Unfortunately, on my fifth day of road trip, I decided to stay at this motel on the 18th of October2022. I did book a room online through booking.com and the motel looked like a decent place to stay for the night.
I slept early and I woke up with motel manager's calls as two guys broke into the car park and stabbed my car tyres, four of them!!!
It was my first time in Mackay and first stay at this motel and never been there before has no idea why that happened and why this motel's private car park is so unsafe to let everyone come in randomly and do whatever they want!!!
We call the police, but police just sent a link to fill the form, upload evidence, photos, video footage etc.
Manager lady Sarah was amazing she helped me a lot because I was in shock and crying. Police didn't show up and business owner even didn't care. I cried and waited till the morning because police advised us to call 000 if the guys come back again.
I didn't sleep till the morning and manager lady told me motel management would help me to change my tyres and they would pay for it.
My car was parked at the motel's private car park and in the morning business owner refused to help me even he didn't say sorry or he didn't show up to check what's going on.
Thankfully we found a mobile tyre service in the morning, and I could leave that place.
I'll never stop at Mackay and never stay anywhere there.
Because it's so easy for everyone to break into private car parks and they can do whatever they want.
This motel's owner doesn't care if anything happens to you during your stay.
Please take it seriously and don't stay at this place.
It was like a nightmare, cost me $608 to change my tyres and motel owner didn't take any responsibility. I didn't have enough money to change all tyres which were damaged at a private car park of this motel. Thankfully my friends sent me some money and I could survive from this nightmare.
They even didn't offer me to give refund for the cost of stay for the night. Completely nightmare.
Don't stay at this place!!! Be sure you and your car have no safety there!!!

My new place to stay in Mackay!

Dated room but nothing to worry about as clean and decent size with small couch. Room also had toaster, kettle and microwave along with a couple of dishes and plates with cutlery. A good size fridge and big comfy bed and smart tv with netflix. Great shower head providing a decent amount of water too! 24hr IGA supermarket around corner along with 2 service stations across next door, chemist and multiple food options including tavern with restaurant, pizza hut, noodles and cafe within 5 minute walk. Friendly staff and i dont believe you will get better value for your money and i think this will be my new go to stay when in town.
