Perfect rainforest retreat
What a gem! The hosts Pam and John have literally provided everything you could possibly need. The cabin (complete with fireplace) is cozy and so comfortable. The breakfast supplies are fresh, locally sourced (many organic) and delicious and provided us with many meals. The warm welcome we received from the hosts and the beautiful Charlie the pet dog, the sounds of the rainforest and the flowing river all combine to make this the perfect place to stay. Would highly recommend!

A rainforest paradise!
We recently stayed at Sharlynn by the River and it was one of the most relaxing and memorable places we’ve stayed in our travels around the world. From the moment we arrived we felt completely at home.
The cabin is beautifully set beside the river and surrounded by lush rainforest. Sitting out on the deck with a morning coffee, listening to the water and the birds, was such a peaceful way to start the day. It really feels like your own private retreat, yet it’s only a short drive into Malanda and perfectly placed for exploring the Atherton Tablelands.
Inside, everything has been thoughtfully prepared and is immaculately clean. There are so many lovely touches that make the stay feel special, including generous breakfast provisions and local produce waiting for you in the kitchen. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a comfortable and welcoming space.
The hosts, Pam and John, were wonderful. They were friendly and welcoming and clearly take great pride in sharing their beautiful property, while still giving guests complete privacy. We had coffee with them both mornings. Unfortunately my wife had quite a bad sunburn and Pam gave her a lovely hat to improve protection and some lotions to sooth and cure the burn.
We left feeling relaxed, refreshed and very lucky to have found such a special place. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to stay in this part of Queensland, Sharlynn by the River really is a hidden gem. I would absolutely recommend to family and friends.

Perfection in the Tablelands
A second-to--none location, and a stunning property, with amazing hosts who are there if you need them but leave you with complete privacy otherwise. The glorious cabin faces over the river and rainforest, in the opposite direction to the owner's house. The cabin is equipped with excellent examples of everything you need and numerous extra touches that really go above and beyond. The breakfast items provided are varied and plentiful (served us for both breakfast and lunch for each of our 3 days there!). The physical location is perfect, so close to Lake Eacham and an easy drive to Malanda, Yungaburra or Atherton. We're so pleased we found and were able to book Sharlynn. Don't hesitate!!

Relaxing in rainforest luxury
We had a relaxing stay at Sharlynn by the River. The beautiful cabin had everthing we needed and more. Even fresh flowers! The generous breakfast provisions were fresh, local produce. Loved sitting on the verandah surrounded by nature. No noise except the sounds of the rainforest and creek.
There are paths and steps but to get the most out of the property bring shoes suitable for walking in the rainforest.
John and Pam were welcoming, informative and helpful hosts who were there when needed but respected your privacy.

Great for visiting this area.
Very cozy and clean house. Equipped with everything including a full refrigerator for breakfast. Friendly owners and a nice dog. Very quiet location on the river. Nothing to complain about. Exactly as shown in the photos..
