BEFORE travel, I was most concerned about the parking situation in downtown Melbourne. I sent a text to the property BEFORE travel, and they basically quoted the information I already had access to online (and that I quoted in my chat to them), without answering my question, which I then repeated, with no reply BEFORE arrival, as if handled by AI only. Upon our late night arrival, I asked the security guard who checked us in about parking, and he gave me an answer which I thought matched what I was told online (reasonable), but turned out later to be the wrong parking garage and the wrong price (double of what was quoted). It was only 2 days later that I was able to actually find someone staffing the proper check-in desk where I could get some answers. At that time, it was still only after I paid (quoted rate as promised) that I was told WHERE the parking was located. Very secretive! Of all of the encounters I ever had with service personnel in Melbourne, this was by far the worst and most rude. And this was a question I was worried about and had chatted to them via Expedia BEFORE travel, with no response! Also, the elevators in the property were under maintenance, and we had to take the stairs (4th floor) from time to time. Otherwise, the accommodation was OK.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Shower was moldy, gas hob was left on in the room, toilet bowl had a ring of dirt and scum, hallways and room smelt. Elevator broke down while myself and 4 other guests were in it and continued to lift up and drop back down two full levels 6 times before staff got us out, they didnt ask if we were ok or apologize and just told us it was because there was 5 of us in the elevator despite the rated capacity being 13 people. They said the other one was out of order (no sign about it) and too just get back on because there wasnt anything wrong. Had to leave and find other accommodation with the condition of the room and feeling extermely unsafe after the elevator and no other way to get to the 4th floor. Got a refund and complained about the service and then got put down as a no show and charged a fee.

OK for 1 night, not very clean

The front desk was friendly and easy to check in
The room is a good size with a kitchenette and washing machine.
There is a couch, table & chairs, and TV.
There are windows down one side of the room, bright light shines all night and sunlight all day.
The floor looks like it has not been vacuumed in a while.
The kitchenette has a broken tap making it a bit awkward to use, the dishwasher is out of order and the fridge is missing a foot so when you open it, it falls forward.
The bathroom is very dirty. The shower was incredibly slippery and has a lot of mould and grime build up, needs some serious bleach. There is thick black hair across the bathroom.
The bed is comfortable but the pillows are very thin.
We stayed here about 12 years ago and it was clean.
It's fine for 1 night but I would stay elsewhere if you want somewhere clean.
