Good stay at Pullman East Melbourne
We stayed 5 nights late last week and weekend at the re-branded Pullman in East Melbourne. The hotel was extremely busy and noisy with many Indians in town for the Modhi visit, Albo the PM was staying a couple of nights and the AFL football crowd in the bars on Saturday night was busy.
Check in was excellent thanks to Mardi and the young girl delivered all our luggage promptly to our smallish but very functional suite overlooking the city and gardens (thanks Rick at reservations).
There is some noise early in the morning from the nearby trains but it was ok.
Breakfast wasn't great - so many families due to school holidays, only 1 toaster - need another in peak times as people were queued up constantly. Plenty of food offerrings but the eggs were a bit dissapointing and those Nespresso coffee machines are dreadful. In peak times it would be good if there was a family free area to eat in quiet, the daily newspapers were available which was excellent as hotels don't provide them anymore.
Room was very comfortable however the heating didn't work very effectively in our bedroom. Staff throughout the hotel were very good including at the often busy and noisy bar.
Car parking is $50 per night in a very tight car park - I don't know how those giant Ute's fit in.....
All up it was a great stay and there are plenty of cafes and places to eat along Wellington Pde. Walks in the gardens and around the MCG Yarra Park are good to do. Quick tram ride into town or by train to Flinders St or walk through the gardens.
I would highly recommend the Pullman - there were a couple of glitches but they were soon sorted out.

The Pullman Melbourne on the Park (The Cliveden Bar & Dining)
Always great ambiance and welcoming at this restaurant.
Good food coupled with good service, what else can you ask for?
A special mention goes to Stephanie (waitress) who truly stands out. She is a fantastic ambassador for this restaurant and has clearly mastered the art of hospitality. She is knowledgeable, patient and genuinely invested in ensuring her guests have a wonderful dining experience. The hospitality industry could learn a lot from her.
She made our evening truly memorable, and we look forward to returning.

Excellent location, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. Staff friendly.
Downside drinks served for room service with no bottle openers, none in the room either. Breakfast in room dining very ordinary. Not able to turn on or off individual reading lights.

Everyone was so helpful & great room
We stayed 2 nights ( Friday & Saturday) for a function on the Saturday and I have to say the experience was great. I arrived early as I had boxes of books and the bell captain safely took the boxes & my luggage. It was convenient to check in online the day prior and be able to share expected arrival time. When we returned after some shopping our room was ready & all our belongings were waiting for us. The room was well designed and quiet. I especially liked the bathroom with the shower controls easy to access before stepping in. I took advantage of the bar and restaurant and loved the post football atmosphere. The location is fantastic with the gardens and easy access to free transportation. I also recommend walking around the streets with some of the most beautiful architecture.

Perfect for am MCG visit
f you are heading to the MCG, this is an excellent place to stay. A word of caution though — on game days parking is at a premium and the car spaces are very tight. Thankfully, there is a tram stop right out the front, making trips into the city very convenient for those wanting to explore Melbourne.
The meals were great, the room was well appointed, and the overall stay was very comfortable. The only downside was that the bar area became extremely crowded and noisy with game-day patrons, which at times impacted the experience for overnight guests using the facilities.
