Quaint country pub
The rooms are quite basic but most importantly I found the bed to be very comfortable!
A pedestal fan is provided but there’s no air conditioning, which would have annoyed me had we stayed during the peak of summer.
The room was clean but the bathrooms needed a little TLC and some repairs (wonky tiles etc).
The recently renovated bathroom is poorly designed with no area to get dressed apart from inside the shower cubicle. The bench for your clothes and toiletries is outside of the shower in a publicly accessible area which makes getting dressed tricky.
Aside from these inconveniences, the hotel is a very affordable and comfortable place to stay. The food is nice and the staff are very accomodating.

thank you for staying with us a second time. We are trying to recreate an accommodation experience which is similar to that which guests would have experienced when the hotel was new. Just somewhat updated. So all the rooms are freshly painted. The main bathroom has had a first cut renovation, but is on our (long) list of future upgrades. The recently upgraded bathroom hasn't really turned out as we'd hoped - whilst it has two shower cubicles and a spacious vanity area - as you point out, there isn't space to get changed in privacy. We will make some minor alterations so that it can be used in privacy for one (or two intimate) guests.
We're glad that your stay was comfortable and that you enjoyed the meals.
