Amazing uninterrupted ocean views
Our second stay here. We love the ocean view, watching the sunset while sitting on the most comfortable king size bed. Uninterrupted views of the ocean, and from apartment 3 also the jetty.
Bar fridge, kettle, microwave and basic dishes supplied. There is a cafe right next door, or it’s only a quick drive to the Main Street of Moonta for the best cafes, restaurants, pubs. Highly recommend Capellas and Port Hughes Tavern for really good food.
My only complaint is the lack of bench space in the bathroom. Nowhere to put your toiletries, makeup, hair products etc. I had to drag a dining chair into the bathroom to put my toiletries on. A missed opportunity with the desk/dresser in the room…a PowerPoint and a mirror there, and it would be the perfect place to do your hair/ makeup and charge up devices.
Wifi was good. We always stay midweek which is quiet. I certainly wouldn’t want to be there if there was a function on in the function room which sits directly underneath the suites/ rooms. We would happily stay here again.

Pictures don't tell the real story.
Needs quite a bit of TLC. First impressions disappointing. Rooms ok, quite big but sparsely equipped. Bathroom not user friendly with no bench space etc. Door to outside communal balcony has a lock but no keys for it. Had to find a clean spot in amongst all the pigeon poop to take our side table and a couple of chairs outside to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Only way to get fresh air in was to leave door open all the windows were fixed pains of glass so no air circulation at night unless you wanted air con on which we didn't. Washing a few dishes, cups glasses etc a hassle with only a small hand basin and a stupid fold up tub, no dish cloth. Liquid soap dispenser empty. Regular price per night. Our bargain deal $300. Would I go there again. No way. Would I recommend it. No. By the way ...the hotel below isn't open. It's a reception place for weddings etc. Owners/management not on site running it by remote control which probably explains a lot.

It was very underwhelming; I was expecting luxury accommodation. There was mold in the shower. There were no ocean views. Very dissatisfied considering the amount paid.

Location and views
I booked two nights through hotels.com, on the day of arrival I received an sms, confusingly it said we were in room 1 2K. (the numbers only were underlined). The hotel only has eight rooms, so we were confused. Luckily a housekeeper was still there and she rang Costello Hotels for guidance, we were in Room 1 with 2 king beds, hence 1 2K., the office speak coding doesn't need to be used when telling a guest their room number. Anyway, the housekeeper was extremely helpful and welcoming. Also, they forgot to provide the password to the wifi in the sms.
Our room was large and had lovely bedding and comfortable furniture. Our bathroom was modern, but lacked counter space, one of the hooks behind the door was loose. The room was well maintained and clean. We had a lovely view of the pier and sea, pity there isn't any seating on the communal balcony.
Although I have mentioned some issues, I am happy to recommend Costello Hotels Seagate, it's a lovely place to stay.
