Plan your trip around staying here!
We stayed here (me, my husband, daughter (12) and son (9)) on our way back from further north. We love seeing grand historical buildings like this one taken care of so lovingly and still shared with the public so we got a real kick out of staying here. If history is not your thin; then the beds are super comfy, great amenities, air con in each room, very clean and tidy (how are the towels so soft?), the shared shower was very clean, great pressure and good temperature.
The main drag is a small stroll away and any food you need is available there. We had to split between two rooms as we got there late in the day and had not pre-booked, I could hear the trucks early in the morning as my window was closer to street but if that bothers you then the rooms at the back of the building could not hear them at all. My husband had one of those rear rooms and he didn't hear a thing.
Our host Tina was very kind and generous with her time and knowledge of the building and area. All this for a very affordable price!

Historic, charming and romantic
We decided to stay here to on our western NSW drive 2 weeks ago. We weren't sure what to expect - but we were 100% delighted!
Our host welcomed us warmly and showed us around the gorgeous historic building, and made us right at home in our adorable room and the lovely dining room and sitting room.
We were a little worried about the shared bathroom, but it was no problem at all - very close to our room, very clean and there was no wait to use the facilities.
The only downside was some road noise from trucks on the highway in front of the hotel (we wanted a verandah room)- for me it wasn't a problem but if you're more sensitive to noise I'd suggest bringing earplugs or getting a room at the back of the building.

We will definitely recommend this place to our friends travelling up the Newel. What a real gem
We were greeted by the owners ,lovely people, we were given a tour of the history of the building, beautiful, it is in amazing condition for its age. The room was lovely very homely. The kitchenette was a great idea. We could help ourselves at any time .

Charming and beautiful hotel in a gorgeous town!
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful, charming hotel! Tina shared her knowledge of the hotel and region and we ate at some lovely restaurants walking distance from the hotel (The Yard, Korthida Thai and the Red Door Cafe).
We also saw koalas and plenty of birds on the wetlands walk.
At the hotel we had a wonderful shower and the beds were very comfortable. Every little detail had been considered and we only wished we had been able to stay more days.
