Awesome setting, great service, delicious lunch.

I have had this restaurant on my wish list and so glad I didn’t listen to all the negative reviews!
It was amazing from the time we stepped in. Beautiful decor & setting, light & bright. Greeted and welcomed, excellent quick service, delicious food and even got an extra special sparkler on my dessert cake for my birthday.

$32 for some cauliflower!!!

While the restaurant is really pretty inside, & it did feel lovely, I was extremely unimpressed by the food.
The only reason we came here at all was because it was the only place I could find a vegan meal - roasted cauliflower. My husband ordered fish & chips - he got two pieces of fish, loads of chips & a side salad for around $32. For the same price, I got half a head of cauliflower with a bit of lettuce! Yes it was nicely cooked but it was NOT a meal!! I had to pay an additional $9 for fries to bulk it out a bit. Would it really have been too much to have some vegetables, some garlic bread or just anything else with it for that price? Why are vegans always ripped off for less food?
Really unimpressed & I felt ripped off, while my husband got a full meal that he couldn't even finish as there was so much.
Nice wine & polite staff, lovely surroundings.

Top price for mediocre

My wife and I had a sizeable gift voucher for Barrenjoey House and we decided to use it in their restaurant before it expired.
Booking a time was the first hurdle and they need your credit card number as part of the process.
So filled with expectations, we arrived on time and were seated next to a window; nice view and outlook.
We both ordered a steak, (because we aren’t too good at cooking steaks). Ordered medium:
My wife’s steak was medium and she was happy, although she was surprised that at $58 it didn’t come with a salad, just a few branches of something sitting on top.
Mine was just a tad above rare but I decided to eat it, rather than risking sending it back.
It was OK but certainly not good.
Learned something: Popularity and price don’t guarantee quality.

Very Bad

I would recommend to everyone don't go there . For the Price of the room $ 352 and another cost for parking of $ 100 for the night across the road , Also I asked to eat at 7 pm when booking however it took us a lot longer to get to the Hotel because of traffic I asked to eat at 7.30 so we could have a shower before dinner and I was told they only had 2 bookings so I would have to eat at 7 pm and I should hurry up . The food was very poor I give it a 2 and a light breakfast was included however in the morning I was told the breakfast was not happening and we will have to go to another location for breakfast . I give the experience a big 0 .

A lovely relaxing break

Stayed for three nights in Room 6 - beautifully furnished, views of the water and a comfortable bed. Rooms are small (bit hard with two big suitcases) but nicely appointed. Had breakfast in the lovely communal guest dining area and veranda. Ate in the restaurant downstairs on two nights - really enjoyed the food, the staff were friendly and attentive and the prawn cocktail was very good. Lots to do in an amazing part of Sydney - the walk to the lighthouse was a good start to each day and there is so much to explore by car or ferry - loved our stay!
