Great hotel, with location close to 4 mile beach, and port Douglas centre. Swim up bar is a must try.

Mouldy, not for asthmatics or clean freaks

Let’s start with the positives - the staff were generally helpful and friendly, the location is fine and the rooms are spacious. The kids enjoyed the pool and spa (although neither were particularly warm) and tennis courts. The continental breakfast is average but fine to start the day.
But unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again. The moment we walked into our two room suite on the lower floor the musty smell of mould hit me and it wasn’t long before we discovered a layer of mould on the top of the bathroom walls and a door. Not to mention dirt and dust under beds and grime in every crack and in every corner.
I called reception concerned about the impact the mould would have on my daughter’s asthma. While they couldn’t find us another room they promised a deep clean to remove the mould the next day. Their explanation was the local climate which can make mould appear quickly - but based on the state of the room I would say it hasn’t had a thorough clean in some time.
While the receptionist was friendly, apologetic and understanding, and most (but not all) of the mould was removed the next day the state of the room still wasn’t up to scratch. There really is no excuse for a hotel room being this unclean. Unfortunately the smell remained throughout our stay. The rooms need a really deep clean, not just for mould but under beds (thick layer of dust, left behind socks etc), in every corner (little piles of dirt), within wardrobes etc (yuk) and within the aircon, every corner is gross.
If staying here maybe ask for a room on a higher floor. My parents had a sunnier room up higher that seemed nicer.
I wouldn’t stay here again. I left feeling like I needed a good shower.

Once happy hour finished at six the pool bar closed, seemed odd not to stay open to allow people to have another drink - you’d done a great job luring everyone down then the vibe just stopped. Good for thought.

Good location. Rooms average nothing special no streaming but they have a few Foxtel channels which did the job. Swim up bar....happy hour service was atrocious....$11 beers (so perhaps glad service was no existant)...booked 3 room, couldn't have been further away from each other. Amenities in room , poor, no tea spoons only 3 knifes
