An Amazingly Friendly and Popular Hotel.

This is a bustling hotel and it's dining room has an excellent name for serving hearty meals. Be warned book a table when you check in the restaurant is very popular.
We had a large comfortable room overlooking the railway station. It was well furnished and ensuite.
There is a free continental breakfast. A fully equipped and popular bar. You can park the car on the road outside the hotel and enjoy the spectacular staircase when you walk in. It is a fabulously quaint hotel with wonderful historic links.

Hi James, thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at The Empire Hotel. It's fantastic to hear that you felt the 'bustling' energy of the hotel and had a chance to experience our dining room. You're absolutely right - our tables do fill up fast, so we really appreciate the heads-up to future guests about booking early for those hearty meals!
We're also glad you enjoyed the comfort of your room and that iconic view of the railway. We take a lot of pride in preserving the historic character of the building, especially that grand staircase, so it's lovely to know it made an impression on you.
We hope to welcome you back to Queenstown and the West Coast again soon!

Ask to see your room before you pay with this hotel.

I don't like bagging a business, especially one in a regional area that might be struggling to attract staff but this hotel is way overpriced for what you get: heater not working, bathroom extractor fan not working, bathroom door didn't close completely, no hair dryer, cobwebs on the ceiling, and the curtain barely covered the window. Feedback was given to the hotel and 10 days later there is no response. At the time of year I stayed, the price was $160 per night for a very small, not particularly clean, double room.
