Beautiful hotel

After completing the Cape to Cape walk we rested and recovered for 4 days at Samphire. We were very happy to be upgraded to a poolview room as our room received some noise from nearby renovation work at another building. Lovely pool area, great restaurant and fantastic staff.

Avoid at all costs - Absolutely appalling and outrageously expensive

This hotel is definitely not the place to go if you are looking for somewhere pleasant to rest and relax. Our room was not cleaned properly before we arrived, dirty floors, chairs, bedding etc as well as an infestation of ants on the desk. The bed was made so poorly from very low quality sheets (pilled and horrible to the touch) that the bottom sheet came loose immediately. The room was incredibly stuffy and the air conditioning kept turning off. Opening the door to the outside allowed diesel fumes, excessive noise and the local wildlife into the room. Unbelievably noisy beach front room with noise coming from both the resort side and the beach side. The constant clanging of the metal gate day and night is horrible. Two phone calls to Reception were ignored (or possibly the phone doesn’t work properly). Outrageously priced room and services and definitely not a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Just amazing

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. We are having the most amazing time here. Mark who met us at reception helped us with our upgraded room and bottle of Prosecco complimentary. Our room is amazing and our outdoor area overlooking the water is superb. Thank you Samphire Rottnest Island for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to the rest of our stay including the restaurant. 10/10 so far.

Perfect wedding venue

If you are looking for somewhere special to have your wedding, we cannot recommend Samphire enough. We had a particularly difficult experience planning our wedding during covid, initially intending to have it overseas and then interstate, but ultimately had it locally at Samphire. Our only regret was not planning to have it there in the first place! Not only is the venue itself absolutely stunning, the food and drinks were delicious and plentiful and the staff were incredibly attentive and hospitable. The events team did everything possible to make our day as special as possible and it definitely was! We plan to go back to Samphire and revisit the wonderful memories as often as we can.

expectations not met...

Paying nearly $1000 for 2 nights stay, we expected some luxury. Absolutely none. When we were sent to our room, on entering, we were disgusted how basic it was, with the ground floor balcony overlooking dirt yard, road & telephone box. To their credit, when we complained, we were upgraded to a room, still basic, on the first floor overlooking the pool. Friends were staying in a 2 bed cottage, 50 m away overlooking the ocean, $300 /night. For the price we paid, thought maybe a bootle of champas; chocolate....nothing. Recommendation: have some subtle lighting in bathroom so you can go to toilet without crashing into stuff.
