Terrible.

In 2002 I stayed at a hotel in Dubbo that I thought was the worst I had ever been in. I was wrong! It took me until 2026 to visit the Royal Hotel Motel at Scone and that has now taken over the mantle! The Hotel was dilapidated to the point of disrepair, and the motel rooms continued that trend. Music from the hotel on the Saturday we stayed there was unbearable in the motel area - apparently we were supposed to have been warned on booking, but apparently this slipped their mind. An extremely disappointing experience all round!

Basic motel room attached to the hotel.

Motel room was clean and basic for 2.5 to 3 stars. Coal trains were running all night, I didn't hear them however other guests did.

Noisy and very basic room

Unfortunately this was the only available accommodation in Scone and it was a about as good/bad as I expected. The room itself was reasonably new and the bed was comfotable which was a good start.
The ensuite bathroom was very basic with no toiletries other than a small bar of soap and a very small basin above cracked tiling. At least the shower had hot water.
The TV in the room didn't work, but the wifi was fine.
The biggest problem was the noise. Apart from being close to the train line (the goods trains blow their horns throughout the night when passing through town), the music coming from inside the hotel was ridiculously loud. I went to take a look but there was no one there other than a DJ - the dance floor was empty! The noise level inside the room was above 60db with window rattling base, so sleep was impossible until the music stopped at about 11pm.
I really can't recommend too much other than the bed and the location near the centre of town

Beware of OVERCHARGING for POOR accommodation........

Room was advertised at a weekly of $350 BY BOOKING.COM from ; June 19th to June 26th on their website.
Obviously, there was "a bad case of inflation" as this hotel charged me $424.83.
My ONLY income is a old age pension.
Fully INTENDED to SPEND money in the restaurant as the food there is very good.
"Beyond the pale".........

Terrible experience

Absolutely atrocious meals! Obviously we’re all reheated, well poorly reheated. Staff had no idea of what was on the menu or prices asking for my assistance! Also responsible service of alcohol might need to be reviewed, I know people have a good time at the pub but there’s having a good time and being wasted and arrogant
