Great location at an affordable price

It is an old and simple hotel but with an unbeatable location. Steps away from Sydney's great attractions such as Opera House, museums and also close to a train station. While the bathrooms are shared they were always very clean. The room is not cleaned during the stay but we had no problem with that. While they do not offer breakfast they have tea, coffee and water freely available to guests.
They were very friendly in their attention, allowed us to check in early and kept our bags late the last day, at no additional cost.
We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Never seen so many joggers at a bar

Probably the best original example of a Sydney pub around.
Food great, service great, atmosphere superb.
A bizarrely large number of guys hitting the cold fresh pots in sports gear. Must be a squash court, BJJ dojo, running track nearby - thirsty

Back street delight

Back street establishment with above and beyond customer service.
Lots of diners and drinkers who look like regulars.
Menu catered well for our tastes, the specials board had tasty additions.
Drinks were sensibly priced with a large range of beers on tap

Great vibe!

Great location and good food.
Me and my partner will definitely come back when we next visit Sydney, the vibe was very chilled and we enjoyed stopping by.

Great experience

Visited with my friends and it was a lovely atmosphere! Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were very attentive and gave good service. We enjoyed the music and cannot fault the experience overall. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
