Hidden gem close to Sydney
You want to relax, connect with nature and unplug? If yes, here is the perfect place!
You'll have to walk a bit to get there but it is definitely worth. You'll be rewarded by a beautiful view.
You can see wallabies and many colourful birds. You can also do outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking.
I really recommend this beautiful place.

A fabulous family winter 'staycation' close to home
We had such a relaxing time at Pittwater YHA. It is an oasis in the bush, and the whole family enjoyed going on walks and just hanging out on the hammocks or drinking tea on the verandah with the view. The younger kids found a secret spot and had some time to themselves. The teenager encouraged us to go for a full moon walk, and a walk to see the sunrise was a highlight. Going by public transport meant no parking hassles and added to the adventure for the kids.We will be back.

Run away from the city and enjoy the restoring embrace of nature
I was looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney for a couple of days, a needed somewhere quiet, in the nature where I could go hiking and swimming. A friend suggested me the Pittwater YHA and he was spot on: a beautiful, rustic building you can reach only by a short walk from the wharf, fantastic view on the bay, breakfast surrounded by wallabies, magpies, goannas and cockatoos, plenty of room in the common areas, cosy lounge with fireplace, Kayaks available, bushwalking tracks all around in the beautiful Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
Perfectly clean and tidy, both in rooms (also, the best sleep I had in months!) and common areas. The owners, Sarah and Michael, extremely kind and passionate about nature, take very good care of their guests and have great bushwalking tips.
A place where I immediately felt at home. In general, very positive vibes and atmosphere: it was hard to leave but will certainly go back!

Please note that you cannot drive to the hostel, this property is only accessible via ferry/river taxi from Church Point. The last ferry on weekdays is at 7pm and 6.30pm on weekends and public holidays. Water taxi's stop between 8-9pm. If you expect to arrive after 8pm, please inform YHA Pittwater Eco Sydney in advance, using the contact details found on the booking confirmation. Please note that there are no shops to purchase food in the area. The closest shops are located in Church Point or Mona Vale. The supervision of guests under 18 years of age remains the responsibility of their parent or legal guardian whilst at a YHA property. Guests under 18 years of age are not permitted to stay in Co-living shared dormitory rooms, they can only be accommodated in private rooms. For further information on the YHA child safety policy please contact the property directly. For bookings of 10 or more guests, different prices, policies and procedures may apply. For further information please contact the property directly. There is paid parking at Church Point ferry wharf, just outside the Pasadena, however this can be costly. For free parking search Google Maps for Bakers Rd Church Point, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry wharf we suggest dropping off your food, luggage and passengers at the ferry wharf whilst you park and walk back to the wharf. From Church Point Wharf you will catch the Church Point ferry to Hall’s Wharf. Tickets are purchased onboard. Trips are limited so make sure you check them out before leaving. There is an inclined trek from Hall’s Wharf to the property which may not be suitable for visitors with mobility issues. It is a 10 -15 minute walk along a fire trail to the property. We require taking a profile photo of all guests staying in shared rooms or private rooms with a shared bathroom. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, we will not be able to accommodate you.
