Amazing group accommodation for 16 friends!!!

We stayed at Seven Hills over 2 nights for a weekend away with 16 friends, the house we were BLOWN AWAY with!! Immaculately clean, with more than sufficient amount of space for us to relax, entertain, eat and sleep!! With 360 degree views the location is incredible and if you want a quiet weekend away this is the place to go! A lot of thought and effort has gone into the house, with a great amount of equipment and facilities. We were gutted the weather wasn't warm enough to make the most of the amazing pool so we will definitely be back during the summer months! Would highly recommend this accommodation to large groups of families and friends!

Charming cottage farm stay

Lovely place to stay. Call me dumb but this was my first ever farmstay and I was blown away by the coziness and warm reception.
I think the previous reviews are a little harsh for what is essentially a small business trying their very best.
Got off an 8 hour red eye flight (delayed by the way, shame on scoot) and did not regret the hour long drive to plonk our tired bodies here.
Very baby friendly. There are swing sets and trampolines for the young ones out in a huge yard and the view of the stars and moon at night sweet amidst blessing of goats. Just perfect.
I will be back.
Not everything is perfect though. Power is eerie, keeps flickering especially when you switch on the taps (go figure) and the place could be better maintained but otherwise it is a perfect getaway if you aren't uppity.

Nice stay, but where are the goats

We traveled for 3-4 hours to get to this farm, hoping to learn something about goat farming and having a nice family weekend away. We were unlucky with the weather, Tallarook had not seen that much rain in 20 years according to the farmer. Nevertheless, the cottage was very comfortable with a nice central fireplace and plenty of dry wood to make a cosy atmosphere. It was very clean and the shower was beautifully warm. Also stunning views all around with nice big windows.
The only thing missing were..... the goats. Out of allegedly 1500 goats we only spotted about 50, and therefore didn't get a good feel of what was involved in goat farming. The farmer was not very keen to show us around and referred us to his website for information.... from that point of view we might as well have stayed at home.
I would certainly recommend this farm stay to families wanting to escape the big smoke, as long as you don't expect to learn about goats.

Thank you for making a review, as we always endeavour to do better and make changes where our guests feel changes may be needed. We are glad you found our cabin comfortable and enjoyed your stay there. We love the cabin very much ourselves.
In regards to our goats, we had 1500-2500 in our peak. At the minute we have between 100-200 goats and they graze over 600 acres. Our property is very large and due to the weather conditions on Saturday, the goats would not have been in sight anyway, they would have been in shelters on under the trees.
The goat circle and community at the minute is very hard, due to the harsh winter and growers exporting overseas, there is a large shortage of goats and we deal primarily within the meat industry and deal only with South African Boer Goats.
Your husband made an interesting point that he was inquiring about dairy farming with goats and that is an area which we are not involved in. Our websites states "Breeders of Australian Boer & Purveyors of Fine Quality Goat Meat". We can not give advise on an area that we are not specialized in.
We do farm tours for educational purposes for learning about Boer goats and how to prepare your property for them. However, this need to be booked at least 7 days before so we can arrange for a member of staff to be on site. We also charge $100 per tour for this as it takes roughly two hours to cover all points and we would take you around the farm. However, due to the volume of rain we have had over winter, the farm is very wet. You would have seen on the road in and out to cottage where the road was very boggy and wet. We have had to close two of our roads on the property and restricted the use of the roads due to the conditions. We gave you directions for you to go for a drive as you had an appropriate vehicle.
On your booking reference, there was no notification to you wanting to engage in any farm tour or have anyone talk to you about goats. This should have been written in the comments box if you wanted to engage in this. Weekends are our busiest time, we leave the farm at 5.30am to attend regional farmers markets and return to the farm around 3pm. Very limited farming happens on the weekend. Our property and farm is a private property and is only open to customers who have made contact and booked an appointment with us, this even applies to our guests who stay overnight on the farm. Coming into Summer, we are now at full capacity with events and shows, as far a field as Hamilton and several weekends are not on the farm at all.

Best little getaway

We stayed in the cottage in the middle of the farm. Very secluded quiet and peaceful place! The kids had the time of their lives running around, lots of animals to see, Bon fire was amazing, even did abit of yabbying, bush walks & motorbike riding!
The cottage had everything we needed for the weekend & the owners were very laid back and not on top of us all weekend.
Highly recommended for a chilled family getaway!!
