basic but worth the money

I chose the hotel due to location and food, it suited me. very basic hotel accomodation, room was clean, bed was ok, cups and kettle, (cups were chipped) a toaster, but no crockery or cutlery, staff very obliging when I requested some tho'
the food was brilliant, we all as a family, ate on the saturday, assorted ages, and choices from the menu, everyone enjoyed their meal, the desserst were divine too, and very good value for what we had...
my only gripe, would be, as a disabled person, I could not park my car directly in front of the room for 2 nights, as another, either staff member or guest had parked in the space, it made it difficult for me as a solo disabled person to load my car on the day I left. apart from that, and a bit of noise as revellers returned to their rooms when the pub closed, it was great, as a single elderly female traveller, I did not feel threatened by any of this, and felt it to be a safe place for anyone. quite importnt as a solo traveller. thankyou to all the staff for their assistance.

dont eat the oysters

went to have oysters last Friday night - had enjoyed many times with the previous staff - but this time terrible - the oysters were at room temperature - had been washed in tap water - a couple had a brown liquid under the oyster - no taste of sea and warm. Mentioned to waitress but nothing happened - on top of it our main course a (hot) arrived before finished the oysters.
If in the city or an area where oysters are fresh - we would have sent them back - but they were not off just very poor quality as they had obviously been mis handled before service - we will not be back

Busy on a Tuesday- good sign

Flathead tails and chips were excellent. Brisket burger (Tuesday is burger specials night) was also excellent. Large portioned meals. Reasonable selection of wines. Very pleased with our dining choice. Friendly, helpful staff. Locals were friendly too.

Quality service

Great pub in a little town.
The rooms are very basic.
Bed, toilet, shower, TV and fridge. Off street parking.
All you need but no frills.
The pub and restaurant staff were exceptional, friendly and attentive. The meals were also fantastic, beer was cold, billiards table and juke box free - rarely ever see that in a world that chases every $.
We’ll worth a stop in.

Great Location

Very basic accommodation. The room has fair lighting, and clean. A bit old but it's fine. It was ok, except for the very weak internet. Both Wifi and our data didn’t work. So, it's not really for people who want to stay connected or those who need the internet for work. It's within the town center.
