A relaxing holiday
A great location right on Lake Altaussee, it. 10 minutes from the center. Apartments can't be more beautiful. The view is fantastic. Pure peace and relaxation. Loungers, boats and boatds are included. The associated restaurant is highly recommended

Beautiful and secluded
We stayed in Hideaway #1, which, like, all the hideaways, has a beautiful view of the lake, with direct access to the lake. We loved swimming in the lake and walking around it. We ate at the Strandcafe as well and met Peter, the owner, who was delightful and gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our travels in Austria. The food and wine there were wonderful. We'd recommend the Hideaways as good base for exploring the area. There are many beautiful places to explore nature very close (Dachstein, Hallstatt, etc.). We plan to return.

Magical - stunning lake views pour in though the ceiling to floor windows.
Discovering these apartments perched on the lake side was a highlight find for this year. Took us less than an hour & 20 mins from Salzburg and was a very easy drive. The Altaussee is spectacular and these lovely apartments are in an amazing position slightly out of town and perched on the shoreline. There is parking though take directions as whilst not difficult it is a track road down to the lake.
Completely refurbished this year by the owners, the apartments are beautifully designed – modern yet with traditional details that give it an added charm, comfy beds, lots of hot water and of course the large windows onto the lake that just give the room a total wow factor. Just below the window on the sandy shore line they have put sunbeds and a selection of canoes for us to use. Swimming was amazing though it must be said on the cool side. The kitchenette has everything you need though in the mornings we favoured a walk to the bakery in town (15 mins) and once enjoyed breakfast on the terrace of the Seevilla hotel.
Kathi and Peter also run the restaurant Strandcafe next door which sits proudly on stilts over the lake. It is a mesmerizing location at any time of day but at night under the stars and looking back at the village lights is really very very special. Food is great and we happily eat here every day – highly recommend the lake trout and a very good Austrian Grüner Veltliner.
A walk around the lake on the pathway that hugs the shoreline is a must. It took close to 2 hrs with a very welcome restaurant stop half way where James Bond recently filmed – you can also take the little lake ferry there. The charming village also has a wonderful tailors (on the bend before the centre) if you have ever wanted an Austrian jacket this could be your place. I totally recommend you look online at images as it just makes you realise how tranquil and absorbing this place is. Kathi was always on hand to give advice and ideas on what to see and explore.
I’m tempted to return with friends and take all three apartments but then again its real escapism here so perhaps I will keep it a secret.

Entspannung pur
Wir haben die Woche im Hideaway 1 sehr genossen. Die Aussicht auf den See und die Berge ist einfach traumhaft. und die Gastgeber sind sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Für unseren einjährigen Junior war vor allem der Ausblick auf die Enten am Ufer interessant.
Kleiner Tipp fürs Frühstück: Die Bäckerei in Altaussee liefert täglich frisches Gebäck an die Haustür - sehr empfehlenswert :-)
