Cosy and central

Everything was clean and good. Room large, back of the house nice and quiet. Pretty newly renovated and dining room especially nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent, egg dishes and pancakes included. Afternoon coffee and several daily newspapers in the foyer. Cosy to sit on. Friendly staff. All around comfortable. Central location - right by the great sights and nature. Top hotel.

Rude and unacceptable

I have never been relocated (ie kicked out) of a hotel that I had booked 7 months in advance! When we tried to check in, after walking 7 miles from the last village, we were told that there was now not enough room for us, as he had booked a large tour group! He offered to give us dinner later.
He asked us to go to his “sister hotel” another 15 minutes’ walk. When we got there, and checked into our rooms, we realized that we’d basically been downgraded to a hostel! The manager there rudely told us that we couldn’t have our (prepaid) breakfast from 8-9 am, as a large group would be dining then!
When we returned for our comped dinner, the original hotel’s manager would barely look at us. My friend asked if we could have (prepaid!) breakfast at our originally booked hotel, and the manager yelled, “No! I already gave you dinner!” Never have I been treated as poorly.

Great service, breakfast and good location

Nice and clean hotel. Good beds. Really good dinner in their restaurant. Fantastic breakfast - perhaps the best we have had in a hotel. In addition, the staff are simply SO nice, helpful and friendly. This hotel can be recommended. Thank you for fantastic service, food and helpfulness.. In addition, it is well located for visiting various sights in the area.

Perfect!

We might have been lucky, but when we arrived the owner gave us a free upgrade to a fantastic large room: 2 sitting areas, a large balcony, an extra bedroom and a fantastic modern bathroom with rain shower. The breakfast was also fine, there were options to order additional (hot) dishes.
The hotel's location is great: the coziest part of Bad Goisern maybe small, but fortunately the hotel is located right in it. The train station is also at walking distance: handy in case you want to visit Hallstatt. The Dachstein Mountains can also be reached from Bad Goisern by public transport: train to Obertraun and from there a bus to the cable car. Bad Ischl (a nice and historically interesting place) is also nearby by train.
All in all a highly recommended !!

Nice Hotel in Bad Goisern

We picked this hotel while hiking in the region. This is a simple hotel for a good nights rest. The rooms are small, no AC, and a bit noisy by the main roadway. The breakfast was solid and the main restaurant did a good job at night - they have a very good chef! We had a few after dinner drinks in the bar and the bartender was very pleasant to chat with about the area. He was 4th generation from Bad Goisern, so he knew alot about the area.
