For what I paid and location it's 5/5 for me!

Booked this hotel as the price was really good and it was right by the train station. We were arriving late at night using the train from the airport, so didn't want to be using the local transport system to find our hotel. You literally come out of the train station and it's on the other side of the road. It felt safe at night time too. Also it was just a few minutes walk from the underground or 7 mins to Tram Stop. You could even walk to the Belvedere Palace in 10 mins. The staff were really helpful and friendly and recognized our IHG loyalty, allowing us to both choose a drink and snack each as a welcome gift. The room was basic, no tea or coffee making facilities, but was clean and ample for a city break. The room was lovely and warm and the bed really comfortable. We paid for breakfast and could not fault it. The selection was brilliant and always topped up. The lady working in their was friendly and made sure tables were cleared promptly. All in all a fantastic stay and would definitely stay here again!

1. My room was on the roof, so it was very hot. Even the fan wasn't enough. Air conditioning is a must, or these floors shouldn't be provided in the summer months.
2. The toilet is very small and there's no handwashing area. Also, it's always in very bad condition, even when not in use.
3. The hotel told me I would have to pay €18 city tax upon check-in. I contacted Garner Hotel, and they said it would be between €18 and €20. However, I paid €29 during my stay.
4. The quality of room cleaning and maintenance was poor.
5. The location is good, especially its proximity to the central train station.

The room had no AC and the washroom was very small. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent and the location to train station you can’t get any closer.

Good location, otherwise mediocre

This hotel is strategically located by the main Vienna train station (the Vienna Hauptbahnhof) and close to the city underground subway. This is convenient, but it's a rather gritty area - at night we had the window open (more on that below) and heard a guy yelling incoherently for a very long time. It's safe, but not lovely in the area.
The hotel itself is in pretty poor condition. The staff were nice. The rooms and hallways are badly in need of spackle and paint. The room layouts are rather odd. And, this being Europe, there's no air conditioning. So in summer it can get really hot and the only relief is a tiny provided fan and having the window open - which leads to a lot of noise from cars and crazy people. Breakfast is not included - it's EUR 19 per person for the breakfast buffet.
This is an adequate place if you're staying in Vienna for one night, and want to be near the train station. But if you're actually staying in Vienna for 2+ days, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Stayed only one night before heading out of the city. Super nice and helpful staff.
The only downside to our stay was the lack of aircondition in the sizzling hot hotel. Fans provided by the staff helped a little but it was a long and warm night.
