An excellent choice in Innsbruck!
This was the first hotel that we stayed at during our multi–centre holiday, and we stayed there for 2 nights. We were looking for a good value hotel near the Old Town, and the Hotel Zach seemed to fit the bill as it is situated on a quiet side street a short walk from Maria–Theresien–Straße. We were also looking for a hotel which had air conditioned rooms but the online info that we found for the Hotel Zach was conflicting. I eventually messaged them and received a prompt reply to confirm that the Panorama Standard Rooms, Panorama Suite Rooms and the Apartments all have air conditioning. We therefore booked a Panorama Standard Room for the 2 of us. I also contacted them prior to arrival to organise our Innsbruck Welcome Cards, and these arrived promptly on the morning that we were due to arrive.
It was easy to find the hotel once we had got off the airport bus and check in was friendly and efficient. We were given room 501, a Panorama Standard Room on the fifth floor. We were expecting to have a balcony but were delighted to find that we actually had a large terrace with a table and chairs and views over the mountains. The room itself was very nicely decorated and looked like it had been refurbished quite recently. It had a large and comfortable bed, which was unfortunately slightly too big for the room, as it has a sloped roof due to being under the eaves. Due to the limited space around the bed, my husband managed to bang his head on the ceiling a number of times while we were there. We were also not impressed by the pillows and ended up using the duvet as a pillow instead. The air conditioning worked really well though, and we were impressed with the secure room access, as you could not reach the hallway outside our room without a key card. The bathroom was also really nice, and the towels were of excellent quality.
We thought that the honesty bar vending machine in the lobby was an excellent idea – but there’s one thing that is currently missing – a bottle opener. I bought a bottle of Aperol Spritz, only to find out that there was no way to open it. We finally managed it by using a pair of (now unusable) scissors. This is a minor point though, and it should be easy to remedy this by installing a bottle opener in the glass storage area next to the machine. In terms of food, the breakfast area was very nice, and the service was very friendly and efficient. There was a good range of bread, cheeses, yoghurts etc, but we felt that the hot selection was a little limited, although this is fairly normal for a 3 star hotel.
Minor issues aside, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Zach and would happily stay there again if we return to Innsbruck! Highly recommended!

Fine hotel
Great location, not far from train station and old town. Clean rooms, comfy beds, helpful and friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast. Hotel Zach participates in the Innsbruck Welcome Card scheme which offers free public transport, cable car rides etc, an unexpected bonus on our arrival. The only thing that concerned me was no security staff and no night manager after 9pm - this may not be an issue for some people but it jarred with the otherwise excellent service.

We loved the location being close to the train station. Our room was very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

A fine boutique hotel that smells good, too!
This was an excellent hotel experience. Hotel Zach offers everything you need, at a very fair price. The hallway is appealing, the rooms spotless and perfectly kept, the breakfast lovingly prepared. Staff is friendly and competent, the location is excellent, and best of all: the place smells good! Using environmentally-friendly, natural cleaning products apparently helps. Would recommend this hotel any day - a fine choice!
