Worthwhile

Extremely friendly and very warm and helpful.
I really felt very comfortable here, even though my stay was quite short.
My balcony room had a great view and the breakfast buffet had everything you need for a good start to the day.
You can definitely come back here.

Wonderful old guest house but in need of attention

Stunning old gasthouse from the outside but in need of attention.The welcome and attention from Johanna was amazing. Our room was big, clean and comfortable but there was no mirror apart from one over basin in bathroom. Too high for me at 5ft2in. The bathroom is in need of some attention. Shower door does not close as it is rusty along bottom. Only breakfast is served. No meals at all but there is an honesty sheet for any drinks you serve yourself from fridge. The terrace is uninviting, old furniture and covered in leaves. A little odd to stay in a guesthouse with no staff available apart from breakfast.
This must have been an amazing place in it's day

Nice staff, but bathroom didn't meet standards

Small, family run hotel with spacious rooms,a bit dated, but fine. But toilet smelled slightly/not clean and shower was mouldy. The owner is very friendly and helpful, apologised and cleaned it immediately. But unfortunately, it didn't really help. The breakfast at €10 consisted of toast, rolls, cold-cuts, cheese, jam, fruit, juices, coffee or tea. However, no eggs. I found the price a bit steep for this. However, having gone to the nearby cafe the next day, prices were similar there.

Excellent stay

Me and my friend stay at the hotel 1 night we were traveling around from the UK on our motorcycles this hotel was excellent yohanna the lady who looked after us was lovely thanku,the room was lovely with a balcony and the breakfast was lovely the price was excellent thankyou so much to u and your family x

friendly, family run hotel.

We stayed four nights in the Gasthof Huttwirt in January 2017. We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from Johanna and showed straight to our room. We had a lovely room at the front of the hotel with a central balcony overlooking the main entrance. The room was clean and tidy, with an en-suite bathroom, TV and double bed. All we needed for our stay. We opted for the half board stay. Breakfast was served every morning consisting of a selection of cold meats and cheeses, various cereals, rolls and hard boiled eggs. A three course dinner was served each evening with a soup to start, a choice of 2 main meals, one vegetarian and one meat option and a desert. The food was all home cooked, traditional Austrian dishes, from local produce. Johanna was always around to greet us with a friendly hello. Her English was very good, thankfully, as our German is non existent. The Gasthoff has ample parking and is in perfect location for ski/snowboarding. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel with bus routes to the various ski lifts. The hotel is within walking distance (approx 15 minutes) from the Hoch kossen ski lift, which in my experience is the largest in the area. Although, not necessarily the best for snowboarding. We were snowboarding and found the lifts slightly further away in Walchsee and Oberaudorf, although smaller and lower altitude, more fun for snowboarding. Overall, a brilliant holiday and lovely stay at Gasthoff Hutwirt. We'd highly recommend it.
