Another excellent trip
Another successful trip to this hotel .. Michael & Nancy run this place efficiently and with passion .. the hotel offers great value for the region and is well located , especially if snow conditions allow you to ski back to the door .. Food is excellent and the rooms are immaculate.. sauna is basic but perfectly adequate.. I’ve been using this place for quite a few years on and off , and will use again ..

An unforgettable gem in Zug
We had the most wonderful stay at Hotel Hartenfels, with Herr Wolf and Frau Nancy being fantastic hosts! We were greeted immediately at arrival and made to feel incredibly welcome.
The rooms are stunning- the perfect combination of rustic and modern. Every little detail was thought of by Herr Wolf.
Similarly with the food- we absolutely loved it! Delicious breakfast and fantastic 4-course dinners, with an incredible wine selection and brilliant recommendations by Herr Wolf.
We couldn’t have asked for more and could not recommend this place enough!

An unforgettable stay in Zug!
Herr Wolf and Frau Nancy are caring and most thoughtful hosts - they made sure that our stay at Hotel Hartenfels was all we could hope for! A friendly welcome with helpful tips about skiing in the area was followed by a week of attentive hospitality. The breakfast selection was lovely and perfect for a day of skiing (the cable car is just a few minutes away!), while the local dishes served for dinner were always tasty and very filling. The rooms are spacious and very designed and tidy. It’s clear that this is a family establishment run with passion and attention to every detail. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolute winner in the Alps
I've visited a lot of hotels in my life, but this hotel is head and shoulders above it. The location is perfect for those who love hiking in the mountains – you step right into the natural beauty.
The rooms are spacious, neat and exude the authentic Austrian Mood. The food? A party! Delicious Austrian dishes, prepared with love. And the staff... warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming – you don’t feel like a number here, but a welcome family member.
What really makes this hotel special is the small scale and the cozy Mood. No mass tourism, but a place where you immediately relax. And when the sun is shining, dining on the terrace overlooking the mountains is pure luxury.
I will be happy to come back here for many years. A real gem in the Alps.

End of season or no desire for guests?
Rooms are large, 90s bathroom and toilet, hotel old but clean.
Host was already friendly but not really hospitable as you otherwise know it in Austria. Funny atmosphere. I had the impression we were disturbing here at the end of the season.
Food was a big imposition: Dinner 3 courses with pasta - spaetzle soup, then tortellini (supermarket quality) me truffle pesto (also as a finished product), then selection of gnocchi or chicken breast with pasta, ready tomato sauce and warmed fried vegetables... the food was not from a trained chef and it may be because only 4 guests were in the house. Then please do not offer an “evening menu” / half board.
Breakfast - very unfriendly and unkempt temporary staff. 5min eggs were liquid inside, sausage and cheese - supermarket quality.
