A visit you can only recommend
We would like to thank you for the wonderful visit on April 12th.
We made a trip to the Schallaburg exhibition from the Mühlviertel and then stopped at the Gasthof Prankl in Spitz. It was all perfect – if not excellent – and for us the perfect end to a successful day.
Already at the reception we were greeted and looked after very friendly. After free choice of seats we were able to choose from the excellent menu.
We opted for Prankl’s house schnitzel (baked) of Styrian chicken with sponge-bacon-onion-cheese filling as well as the vegetarian cream cheese avioli with double asparagus, parade ice cream, brown butter, spinach and Parmesan. Both dishes were an absolute treat – not only excellent in taste, but also beautifully served. A real feast for the eyes!
Finally, we indulged in the arillentiramisu with apricot sorbet – unique in taste and creatively prepared.
Accompanied by excellent wines and a good coffee, it was a nearly perfect dinner for us. Fresh, high quality, creative and with extremely friendly service.
An all-round successful conclusion that we can highly recommend. We would definitely come back!

Delicious food, great Service, Mood to feel good about.
With great luck we got a table without reservation. The reception was very warm, the food of the best quality and creativity, the plate language extremely appealing.
The table top with truffle majo very delicious, as well as the other dishes. The apricot dumpling a dream.
We will definitely come back.

Cozy hotel - great location
Lovely cosy quiet hotel right on the Danube and a short work into town. Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. There were a handful of parking spaces at the side of the building. We picked a day when the restaurant was closed so I don't know how full the spaces would have been otherwise.
Slight negative comment is that we booked a room with a Danube view but were given one at the back of the hotel which viewed a small courtyard. For one night's stay this was not a major issue though.

First Class
We couldn't have made a better choice. A great atmosphere, outstanding service, great room and of course excellent food.
We came across this hotel by chance on our Danube bike tour, but we were overwhelmed and would have loved to stay longer.
A hotel where you feel at home! With many regional products on the menu.
Not to mention the charming surroundings. This has given the term Wachau a whole new meaning.
