Ideal for a hiking holiday in the mountains

The accommodation was spacious, clean and functional, the staff friendly and accommodating. This applies to both reception and service in the guest room or room service. The food (half board) was varied, tasty and so abundant that further visits to restaurants were unnecessary.
Mallnitz is connected to the railway's long-distance transport network, and the hotel provides guests with the Kärnten Card and Alpine Pearls Card for free use of hiking buses. So you can go on holiday here very well without a car, the buses stop right in front of the hotel. A wide range of hiking destinations - from a walk in the Seebach valley to challenging high altitude tours - can be reached on foot or by short bus ride from the hotel.
If the weather doesn't play along, you can help yourself from a rather richly equipped library and sit out the rain.

Renovated and loveless business

Of the 4 stars proudly displayed on the main facade, a maximum of 2 remain. Here you go on a journey through time. The rooms are from another century and the house would need a general renovation. The room we got, however, was large and relatively clean. The night was quiet. A light switch was in a bad (dangerous?) Condition and there was no hand soap in the bathroom (only shower gel).
However, what I liked the least was the food. The advertised “fresh” and “local” products have not been found here. Often the food tasted like straight out of the can. The meat and fish products were good. The sauces tasted artificial and were certainly not homemade. The (yellow) cucumbers, onions and carrots looked all but fresh.
This culinary experience has taken away our desire to visit the sauna and sports room.

Good starting point for cycling down the Alps

We stayed at this hotel as the starting point of a bicycle stage trip - well prepared for it. Spacious room, good cuisine, friendly staff - we were satisfied.
There is a slight impression of earlier decades, but that is not a bad thing.

Great value for money

Spacious rooms, but dated hotel.
Friendly staff, food was ok really Austrian you should love. Helpful people. Free parking.
Only downside is the outdoor apress ski bar right in front of your hotel room.
Furthermore, we had a very nice winter sports week here

Pleasantly surprised , dreamlike area

Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed . The guests invited us to a welcome drink right away. The food was excellent and extensive. Afterwards we sat at the nice house bar . There were many cocktails .The night was very quiet although we had our nice room facing the street. The breakfast buffet is adequate and extensive. The area around Mallnitz is beautiful . We were able to really recover and look forward to seeing you again at the Hotel Alber.
