Restaurant review

Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed by our visit to the restaurant at the Hotel Post. Rarely have we been served such a bad meal. Since the restaurant Löcker had its rest day on that day, we decided to stay at the Hotel Post. Already at the beginning we noticed that the restaurant was completely empty – a stark contrast to the previous day in the restaurant Löcker, where we even had to wait for a table due to the large crowd.
The prices in the menu suggested fine cuisine, but unfortunately we were convinced otherwise.
When you order table spit with rösti, you expect something different than soft-boiled potatoes sprinkled with a ton of caraway seeds (and that's really not an exaggeration). A dish described in the menu as side cuts with polenta, mushrooms and cabbage sprouts initially sounded promising. Unfortunately, the meat was of inferior quality and in no way matched that of a Beiried. The polenta was grey and tasteless, the mushrooms were served separately in a glass of Obers and were also completely unseasoned.
The schnitzel with fries was also disappointing: Neither the breadcrumbs nor the chips were crispy.
Since I cook well myself, I expect a corresponding quality of food at such prices. But now I understand why the restaurant was empty.
It's a real shame that you obviously don't bother to find a cook who understands his/her craft here. The premises of the restaurant are actually beautiful and would have the potential to fill the place – provided the quality of the food was right.

Very nice and quiet hotel

Beautiful hotel with style, located right on the market square. We had the four-poster room for an Advent weekend (beautiful, high-quality bed), everything was very spacious and clean, large bathroom and toilet, both as good as new. The room is in the main building and has vaulted ceilings, everything has been beautifully renovated and the furniture and curtains make you feel like a prince or princess.
The receptionist deserves special mention. Super friendly, she had booked a perfect sleigh ride for us in advance - always a quick response time to our communication by email.
The hotel is recommended!!!! Despite the direct location on the market square, we were positively impressed by the absolute peace and quiet.
The Christmas market was located right in front of the hotel. Well worth a visit even without the vouchers for mulled wine.

Lovely hotel

Nice clean friendly family hotel . All the staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome as if nothing was to much trouble . We stayed half board and for us as a family of 3 with our 8 year old son was perfect and food was great . A big thank you to all at hotel post

Great hotel after a very disappointing experience

We came to Schladming with the intention to stay a week in Hotel Wintergarten. We had paid for the whole weeks stay. But we did not like Wintergartens room which was terrible. And so was the patron of that hotel. Therefore we decided to go to another hotel and found Hotel Post on the main pedestrian street. Hotel Post is professionally run hotel with good and friendly staff. Nice room and spa as well. Very good dinners also. A very good experience after the total disappointment with Wintergarten.
