Lovingly run hotel
Very well maintained hotel with extremely friendly staff. Perfect for a relaxing holiday.
The rooms were a bit warm and the beds were already a bit slack, so we didn't sleep very well. But that does not detract from the overall impression.

Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Stay
I booked this hotel last minute based on strong reviews. While the Zillertal Valley is beautiful and good skiing, my stay did not justify the cost, and I would choose a different property next time.
Pet policy: The hotel advertises as pet friendly, but no fee is listed online. I was informed only upon arrival of a €50 charge for additional cleaning. While a fee is understandable, it should be clearly stated in advance online when booking and not after driving hours with no other options. Cleanliness was also questionable as after wiping up a small water spill, the towel came up brown, suggesting floors (or maybe more) may not be thoroughly cleaned between guests.
Location: Not walkable to town; need a car to get around unless dining on-site (which has very limited hours and I could find no menu).
Sauna: On both visits it was overcrowded, with guests sitting directly on the wood without towels or attire, which felt unhygienic.
Breakfast: The food was good and a variety, the setting also very nice, but service was unfriendly and rigid. Despite many open tables, I was not allowed to change seats and had to sit in less desirable locations next to coughing guests blowing their noses or larger loud groups.
Room: Rooms facing toward Mayrhofen overlook a barn, with noticeable cow smells and occasional noise. Temperature control is only heat per radiators, and opening the door for fresh air to cool down the room brought in manure odors. The room felt a bit dated with thin walls (a lot of noise from other guests), uncomfortable bed and pillows (tossed and turned each night), and a very poorly designed bathroom which was extremely small, no shelves or hooks anywhere (not by the sink or in the shower), and as a petite person there was barely enough space to turn around even for me. I dropped my entire toiletries bag breaking some items due to lack of shelving or counter space and even lost a set of contact lenses. Stepping out of the shower it was nearly impossible not to run into the toilet as well.
Positives: The lobby, bar, breakfast area, and patio are attractive, and the hotel has nice views and convenient ski bus access.
Overall, the property has potential, but needs more attention to detail and a little more kindness. I’ve stayed in better accommodations at lesser prices in the nearby areas.

Beautiful hiking week in the Zillertal
We stayed here with my mom for 1 week and we liked it great. Family room, 2 identical rooms with large terrace and mountain views. Dinner with menu choice top good quality ! Ample parking , bus stop Gaestebus to Mayerhofen almost right outside the door. Schwendau very quiet but top as a starting point to explore the Zillertal. Staff very friendly and overall top value for money.We also had our little bitch with us,50 euros a week, very fair!

Enter and feel good .
This is our second time here. The attentive service, the house fairies, the kitchen, the hotel management, everything just fits. Super friendly everyone. The hotel is very clean. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Many different bread rolls, jams, sausage and cheese, fruit, cereal, eggs, ... . Dinner was delicious and varied. There are salads, hot and cold starters, soup, various main courses and always a delicious dessert.
You also get great daily tips and excursion destinations.
It is very quiet, therefore great for sleeping. Beds are good. The bathroom is small but very clean. The balcony is large.
And sitting outside in front of the hotel in the evening and having a drink is just the perfect end to the day.

Nice hotel. All fine, no issues. Good breakfast. A few minutes drive from Mayrhofen.
