Great stay in The Bahamas!
The Atlantis Paradise Island Resort is a very good hotel,with friendly staff and lots of activities such as The Dig, Aquaventure (the 141 acre waterpark) Marina village for an evening stroll, The casino, and lots of restaurants! I would definitely recommend come back here! The rooms are spacious and have wonderful views too! (It is best to stay for 5 days for a full experience! (Special Thanks to Giordano of Seafire Steakhouse!)

Great Family Experience
We booked 5 nights at the Royal with an ocean view balcony room. We had an 11 and 9 year old with us. It was a great experience. The registration was quick and friendly and they upgraded us to a higher floor without asking. The room was well maintained and recently renovated with a perfect view of the entire resort. The hotels are immaculate with a lot to see. The restaurants were good. Nothing terrible and nothing outstanding but as expensive as reported $$$$. The aqua venture was as expected. Great water slides and clean pools. The ocean was crystal clear... absolutely no sargassum anywhere. Beautiful. Overall and outstanding experience.

Extreme Buyers Remorse
I haven’t even finished my stay yet and hope this review will persuade other people from spending this much $$$ on this poor of quality.
-Restaurants take forever and are insanely overpriced, we were say quickly but then waited 15 min before some came over and asked for our drink order, then she forgot my drink until I reminded her and at that point my kids already had their meal
-Every service worker I’ve encountered at restaurants/bar/towel service/gift shop acted as if I’m an inconvenience. At the Starbucks they don’t call out when your drinks are done and they’re bs-ing with each other. They never checked my room # or anything to get towels and there’s only 1 place to get them so there’s a wait for that too.
-Cruisers come thru everyday and swarm the place creating lines for the food and slides
-Lines/waits for restaurants or checkout are long
-On multiple occasions the store clerk was on speakerphone berating their boss/coworkers as I’m checking out
-Water dispenser on grounds is warm water to refill bottles

Mixed bag, some great aspects but in many ways a difficult place to stay at - If you can, stay in Imperial Club rooms.
The Royal at Atlantis is an interesting place. While it delivers on a spectacular setting, grand designs and some aspects of its service, I can only describe it as a difficult place to be (at least during high season). The property is extremely crowded and feels like a busy airport terminal. The cost both for the lodging and food and board on property is high compared to what is delivered. I would find it suffocating to stay there for more than 2-3 days. The Imperial Club lounge was the saving grace of our visit.
If we start with what we enjoyed: The setting of the property is amazing, the pool and beach areas are lovely and many of the food and drinks outlets at the place deliver excellent quality (though at a cost). Contrary to many reviews our room felt fresh and well-appointerd. The water park at Aquaventure was decent although it had some inherent design flaws (See below). The star of the show this time around was the Imperial Club, where the breakfast and happy hour were a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the resort (And incredible value for us). The concierge at the Imperial Club was incredible.
Unfortunately, these were overshadowed by the considerable downsides: There are crowds everywhere which both means stress everywhere and competition for scarce resources such as dining reservations. The hotel obviously has a difficulty coping with those crowds leading to very slow service at the restaurants. This crowded feeling impacts all aspects of the experience. The Aquaventure water park, while in some ways nice, has a limited number of rides, and an inherent flaw in its design - flotation devices that are needed on some rides only come from the "rapids" river, leading to guests having to spend excessive time there just to get on other attractions. This feels petty but makes a day there much less efficient.
The incredible pressure to spend at the resort and the high prices for many of its services leave you wanting more value.
This is a place like few other, and worth a visit, but limit your stay to only a few nights and try to score the Imperial Club rooms. The Bahamas have so many other interesting options to experience.
