Centrally located, affordable price, friendly and helpful staff, rundown rooms in a construction site.
We booked the hotel because it is centrally located. The price was affordable, perhaps too affordable.
Upon arrival, we found that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations and there are partially construction sites in the building. Nevertheless, we were warmly welcomed and were able to store our luggage until the room handover. One of the two elevators was missing (and it was really missing). I was not informed during the booking and also afterwards that there are construction works in the hotel! After several reviews from many years prior reported on construction works, I did not think that this is a permanent state. We had 2 rooms. Both are heavily worn out. The carpets have apparently been in use for several years beyond the recommended lifespan and could obviously no longer be cleaned. The surroundings are very loud (various. Ventilation and air conditioning from the surroundings). Windows are neither soundproof nor clean. The air conditioning seems to be in preparation or renovation - it certainly did not work. The bathrooms are renovated and nice, but it is initially difficult and then impossible to maintain a pleasant water temperature for showering.
The pictures on the hotel's website are very flattering when compared to our rooms.
The staff is super friendly and helpful, but that cannot make up for the run-down rooms.

pros: location, cons: everything else
the location was great for taking tours and exploring the city! unfortunately each time a toilet somewhere else in the hotel would flush toilet water would rain down from our bathroom ceiling. also this hotel was under construction when we were staying there, we were never notified of this. each morning at around 8 am we would wake up to banging and drill noises which would be CONTINUOUS until at least 11 am. they DO have an elevator but it is almost ALWAYS out of order. we had to carry our bags down 5 flights of stairs when we checked out. there are also many areas in the stairwell with seemingly exposed wires, which does not seem safe to me. it was generally just pretty dingy BUT if you’re going to be out of the hotel for most of the day & are looking based on location ONLY, this place was great!

Im not sure. The hotel was total renovating, we did not get any notis about that when we ordered the room. Was dirty and noisy there and the elevator did not work as well. Airconditioning did not work and the electricity in the room sparked in the sockets. We was living in a construction site. Thats the word for it..

The hotel is undergoing lots of renovation which wasn't mentioned at the time of booking, when we arrived it was broken flooring due to be replaced, the lift to our floor didn't work so we had to carry our suitcases down a flight of stairs to be able to access the floor. Loud construction work during the daytimes, exposed wiring, on the hallways and stairwells which stunk of paint. I think the hotel needs to be closed while the work is ongoing.
No air con due to the work, no kettle or amenities in the room, no real clothes storage or anything.

Tiny gym. Elevator wouldn't go to my floor (4th floor). Constant renovations from about 8am vibrating around the place. Breakfast is expensive for what you get but buffet is ok. Helpful staff and clean rooms.
