Comfortably Grand

The Le Plaza is reminiscent of a grand hotel from the last century, but one that has been well maintained and is unpretentiously welcoming. The location is perfect, an easy and enjoyable walk to the central attractions but near a pedestrian shopping mall for convenience and where you will encounter real residents of the city. It is quiet both during the day and at night and my room was spacious, comfortable, and everything worked. But maybe the very best part was how the staff were all professional yet warm and genuinely interested in making my stay a pleasant one; gracious is the word that comes to mind. All in all, the Le Plaza was a great home for my visit to Brussels.

Disappointing and rude front desk

The hotel itself is beautiful when you walk in. Very nice breakfast. Rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. However, I never complain about staff usually but the front desk are so rude, from the minute you arrive they are unpleasant. Stated we had to pay for the rooms when it had already been paid for, when they realised the mistake there was no apology. Very disappointing when they treat you like you are wrong from the start. This was not the only issue, they all seem to hate the public. Also the surrounding area of the hotel is so dodgy, would definitely not recommend for female or solo travellers.

Best Hotel in Brussels

Wow this hotel has everything you need for a great stay, the rooms were so clean, the Bed was the biggest I have every seen or stayed in, and I use hotels all over the world... staff and breakfast were so good, you couldn't beat it... I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel....

Not up to 4-star standards

It completely baffles me how Hotel Le Plaza achieved a 4-star rating. It’s a small property with no real amenities or concierge in an obscure part of Brussels, 15 minutes by foot from the Grote Markt (but in close proximity to four erotic shops). Again, no real concierge to provide reliable restaurant recommendations, booking services, or directions. The only “amenities” are a bar and 35 Euro breakfast.
During my stay, the air conditioning in my room never worked. When I said something to the front desk staff, they said they would send someone. They ultimately did send someone, not a repairman, but a chambermaid with a freestanding fan. Also, during my stay, one of the two elevators was out of service for a day and one time, both of the elevators stopped functioning. This led to long elevator wait times and, in the latter case, climbing seven flights of stairs to get to my hotel room.
My stay at Le Plaza wasn’t all bad. The small lobby and bar are elegantly decorated and attractive. The corridors are wide and well decorated. The public spaces are clean and well-kept. Bedrooms are spacious and are nicely furnished. The staff is polite and genuinely tries to be helpful. Still, all of this makes Hotel Le Plaza a decent 3-star hotel. However, it fails to meet the standards of a 4-star property.

3 night stay

Beautiful hotel...one comment is it is on the edge of a 'Void' area. The staff explained not to turn left, AFTER we had already ventured pout with myself, wife and teenage daughter; the heads up would have been appreciated. Apart from this, the hotel is lovely, staff helpful and the rooms are spacious. It can get noisy too...but what do you expect in a city...
